From my perspective as a parent of an 11 yr PDT alumna, now professional dancer, I recommend this treasure of a school for its tops technical prep but even more for its heart full of values, support and ongoing dedication to its current and former students. Wonderful!

This school teaches more than dance. It teaches respect, self-respect, courage, and teamwork all in a supportive environment. It encourages all types of dancers at all levels.

Five Star Dance studio, unbelievably talented and caring staff, and an amazing production of A Philadelphia Nutcracker plus a spring show every year that will impress even the most critical. If your child is drawn to dance, this is the place for you! My daughter has been there for over seven years and it has turned into a second home!

I have been affiliated with Philadelphia Dance Theatre for more than 11 years. My daughters are 23, 10 and 7. My husband and I knew this was the studio for us when he saw the director, Joy Capponi, in our neighborhood bank. The dance instruction is phenomenal (my oldest graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Strategic Communications and is currently dancing professionally), but what I appreciate most is the feeling that we are part of a community, a family. .... Philadelphia Dance Theatre is a truly special place.

My son has been taking ballet here for 5 years. He is challenged, he is given confidence, he has fun. At performance time, I am amazed at what this school accomplishes. The students put on professional ballets that leave you breathless at times. Joy and her staff love what they do and they do it with professionalism, compassion, and with the child in mind.
