Ben Harris is a proud Portland native and true-blue math fanatic who has always had a passion and aptitude for numbers. He started his accounting career after high school by preparing taxes for his father, Richard Harris, P.C. He later went to work in the foreign currency and merchant services departments of a commercial bank while putting himself through school.
He graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and worked for a CPA until starting Numberman LLC in 2014.
Between 2000 and 2013 Ben worked as a seasonal dockworker in a remote corner of Alaska, putting in long hours seven days a week for months on end. He also fished for king crab on the Bering Sea. Taxes. Bluh. So boring. It reduces people to numbers, but Ben (aka Numberman) doesn't. If nothing else, he likes to connect with people. But, he does so while still getting a full understanding of your tax situation. I brought in all my W-2s and 1099/98 whatevers and he was able to answer all my questions except for one, which he did the research on and got back to me speedily! He is a gem amidst a pile of shale...a cold drink on a hot day.....a knowledgeable tax preparer in a world of emotionless software. See Ben! He makes the entire process a pleasant one.
