I stopped by with my 2000 Jamis Aurora in March of 2017. I'd flown it in a bike box when I moved to SF the day before. When I re-assembled it and mounted the rear rack, I broke the bolt in the braze-on nut on the right seat stay. I left the rear rack on anyway, pumped the tires and went looking for an apartment. Nomad was on the way, so I popped in not expecting much sympathy. The owner introduced me to the p-clamp, a thing I hadn't seen before. He sold me a pair of them for next to nothing, provided I did the work of putting them on myself. A good man. They're fiddly to put on. I'm not surprised that he didn't feel like quoting me a labor rate that would have sent me out of there for sure. But, after some cursing, I got them on and they're there to this day, one per seat stay, holding that rear rack as well as ever. The broken bolt is still in the nut that ate it. Nomad is where I figured this would be a good town for me. Almost a year later, my impression remains favorable.
