Nick Rinard Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy

Nick Rinard Physical Therapy (formerly Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of Portland) in Portland, Oregon, is a small network of Physical Therapy clinics devoted to healing people and giving them the power to heal themselves.

Founded in 1999, MDT of Portland (now Nick Rinard Physical Therapy) was the first Physical Therapy clinic in the Northwest devoted to practicing the MDT Method. We have two Physical Therapy clinics serving the Portland Metro Area and remain the only Physical Therapy practice that specializes in this method. For that dedication, we have been rewarded with the reputation as the Physical Therapy Clinic That Gets Results. And we honor that reputation every day by seeing our patients recover, more than 9000 and counting, in as few as 4-6 visits.

But don’t just take our word for it; schedule a Physical Therapy appointment today and see for yourself how you can finally live pain free! Read more

Let me start by saying how much of a skeptic I was of Physical Therapy. I had gone to two other PT's in the Portland area, leaving in worse condition than how I arrived. After failed attempts in taking muscle relaxers and pain killers, my primary care physician suggested I try Nick Rinard Physical Therapy.
I had a bulging disc in my back that was extremely limiting not to mention very painful. Nick was quick to diagnose and treat my bulging disc by incorporating exercise and a very thorough treatment plan. I have zero qualms about physical therapy only because of Nick and my experience with his staff (Courtney). So professional, courteous, and not shy of pushing me outside of my comfort level. I LOVED my therapy sessions and am incredibly grateful for their treatment. I am now pain-free and able to enjoy all of my physical activities.

After having 2 back surgery's I truly felt a 3rd was in my very near future the pain in my right leg was at times unbearable so my Dr referred me to Nick Rinard PT.
The staff is so kind and friendly and the PT's are amazing they taught me life changing exercises that I now work into my daily routine to keep my back strong and healthy. I would recommend anyone that needs PT to come here first.
    Thank you all

I had the need to see Nick for shoulder Pain going into my arm. He was able to quickly
diagnose my problem through a thorough examination. He then showed me a series of simple stretches to a few times a day. It wasn't long that i was seeing results. As I got it got better he would then progress my treatment with more stretches and resistance.
He showed me every exercise even took a few photos while i did them with my phone to make sure i would do the and do them right. I also appreciated all the reminder calls to keep things on track.

All better now, A huge THANK YOU for your service.

Wow! I never thought I'd ever walk without foot pain and without my shoe inserts! After nearly a decade of walking with the aid of arch supports and STILL suffering chronic foot pain; Nick was able to create a program to help eliminate both the pain and the need for inserts!! I couldn't be happier!! No more "ugly shoes"!! It's a miracle to me after seeing podiatrist after podiatrist that told me the same thing over and over....

After some persuasion to try his clinic and approach before evaluating options with the orthopedic surgeon, we took our daughter to Nick's office to address an ailing knee and some (related) ankle tenderness.

I'm happy to say that she's made a full recovery following their recommended treatment plan and is back to full strength in her athletic pursuits after several visits.

Nick and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and express a keen interest in their patient outcomes. Thanks Nick and team!
