Myotides Bodywork

Massage Therapist

Myotides Bodywork stems from a combination of the root “myo,” meaning muscle, and tides, as in ocean tides. Muscles act very much like pumps – when we activate them and make them shorter, they fill with blood and nutrients. When we stretch them the fluids are transferred back into the circulatory system. This ebb and flow is necessary to maintain healthy tissues and without it, the injury is more likely to occur. Much of the work of a massage therapist is in assisting patients to re-establish the muscle-tide in areas that have become stuck due to lack of movement or injury. As the tissues re-hydrate and gain more range of motion, the body is able to heal more efficiently. Read more
