  They are one of the few shops in Portland where the staff are full time adventurers and part-time employees. They know their equipment inside and out because they use it more than anyone. I've also had bases and edges repaired there for a great price and quality work.

  The Mountain Shop not only is a fantastic place to purchase new equipment, they are the perfect spot to rent backcountry gear for trips to the high Cascades. The employees are very knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic and always greet you with a smile. A great shop all-around!

  I bought boots and got a fitting from them some years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. I go to them for backcountry and mountain climbing expertise because they are excited to help and extremely knowledgeable. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone just getting into the outdoors to the seasoned professional.

  Because they have always helped us with our needs from boot fitting, finding spare parts for older gear, tuning, renting, following up with warranty issues, etc. Thank you Mountain Shop!
