Metapoint Acupuncture and Wellness

Acupuncturist

From its beginnings in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture has been used to prevent, diagnose and treat disease and improve general health. Contrary to popular Western belief, an acupuncturist is not simply a person trained to insert very fine needles into specific body locations to alleviate pain. Rather, as you’ll find at Metapoint, acupuncture is one facet of a traditional Chinese medical protocol that includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal formulas, Asian bodywork (TuiNa), and physical movement through Tai Chi and Qigong.

The standard Western explanation for acupuncture's effectiveness is that it modifies the flow of "energy" (known as "qi") throughout the body. This is a common misconception about the definition of "qi" which actually has numerous meanings. What we mean by qi at Metapoint, aligned with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), are the processes that occur naturally in the body, such as breathing, blood flow, lymph return, nerve conduction, and the transformation of food in the body to nourishment, blood, and ultimately--energy. I had a really good experience here. I sought out acupuncture for the first time for a very difficult health situation both physically and emotionally, and acupuncturist KJ Sauer was able to address and resolve it. More importantly, I found her deeply compassionate and understanding.

Been going to Metapoint since January and I feel like a different person! The majority of my arthritis pain has been taken care of and my foot pain has been resolved. I can actually walk now without limping. I was very apprehensive about going since I I never experienced acupuncture. It just didn't make sense to me, but it seems to have worked!

KJ is not only a great acupuncturist, but one smart cookie :) She expertly intwines the Chinese therapies of acupuncture, cupping, herbs and more! But most importantly, I appreciate the fact that she takes the time to truly listen to me as her patient. I love receiving treatments from her and recommend her to anyone who wants to truly be cared for by their practitioner.

KJ is absolutely the best! Please do not hesitate going to her, especially if you've never gone to an acupuncturist before. She will definitely ease your concerns and you will leave with a positive experience and a desire to return. I had my first acupuncture experience with KJ and I endorse her 100 percent!
