McKenzie Sports Physical Therapy (Philadelphia, PA)
Dr. Chris McKenzie

Physical Therapist

He was a sprinter as a Junior in high school, soaring over hurdles at the State track meet and gaining lots of D1 university interest. After a hamstring injury caused a set-back his Senior year, college interest shuttered, and Chris’ dream of a division 1 college scholarship was gone in the blink of an eye…from one. preventable. injury. A repeat injury in college ended his career and Olympic hopes for good. It wasn’t until Chris attended physical therapy school, that he learned he was the victim of poor therapy and sports rehabilitation.

Chris started McKenzie Sports Physical Therapy because he doesn’t want anyone’s dreams to be demolished (like his were), when there is a way to fix it…especially without drugs, injections or surgeries. To achieve this, McKenzie Sports Physical Therapy provides detailed total-body examinations, hands-on manual care, and supervised exercise programs unlike the big therapy chains. Dr. McKenzie has worked with youth sports programs nationwide, top high school & collegiate athletes, players in major league baseball organizations, olympic athletes, crossfit athletes and the weekend warrior. He is the only double-board certified physical therapy specialist in Philadelphia. McKenzie Sports Physical Therapy’s mission is to be recognized as Philadelphia’s premier destination for athlete injury prevention & rehabilitation, and to help Philadelphians move better, feel better and perform better no matter the task. As a physician I am continuously impressed with Dr McKenzie's skills.
We started seeing a chiropractor who asked us to work with Dr McKenzie as well.
This was not the first time we had been under Dr McKenzie's care. He had previously worked with our sports team .
After a thorough assessment, he started her treatment and coordinated as well with the chiropractor ( in bucks county) . Their care significantly improved her pain / range of motion and muscle strength.

Dr. McKenzie was able to fit my son in on short notice. After a very thorough examination, he was very helpful in discussing treatment options and walking my son through corrective exercises. He hasn't recovered yet, but I can speak highly of Dr. McKenzie's knowledge and bedside manner.

... I can’t say enough about his skill and dedication to getting me back to full functionality. He was thorough, creative and patient and provided an individualized plan that has gotten me back to playing tennis again. I have full ROM, better strength and full confidence that I am the best that I can be. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. McKenzie is the key reason why I have been able to come back from this injury without limitations. Dr. McKenzie was invested in my recovery as much as I was -- not your typical PT experience -- his dedication to my rehab made all the difference. I highly recommend McKenzie Sports Therapy!

Our family experience working with Dr. McKenzie has been top notch. There aren't enough stars on the page to rate him. My son presented with a small UCL tear at the end of last year. Dr. McKenzie performed a full evaluation, guided us to a surgeon and created a treatment plan for my sons injury.

Dr. McKenzie completely understood my sons needs, game him a great treatment plan, discussed his therapy, gave him great guidance and respect. ...

As a professional athlete with a history of injuries and limitations in regards to mobility, Dr. McKenzie was able to pinpoint my weak areas and even areas that seemed strong but for the wrong reasons! (Didn't even know this was possible) Dr. McKenzie helped me put together a game plan to build functional strength and dynamic mobility to not only prepare myself to be strong for next season but also be at a reduced risk of re-injury.
