Really good dermatologist who was recommended to me by a well respected John Hopkins internal physician.

If you're a new patient, it may be a while to get an appointment, but he may be worth the wait. Just make sure you do what they advise you to do before your first visit. That would be to fill out all the paperwork that is listed on the doctors website before you come to the office for first visit. It would eliminate a long wait time to see Dr. Lowitt.

Other reviews have stated that patients had to wait for hours to see doctor. I have never had that experience as of yet.

    His website is: drlowitt.com/_index.php

I was referred to Dr. Lowitt by my massage therapist, herself a talented and tremendously caring person, so I knew that I would be in good hands. I have seen Dr. Lowitt several times for dysplastic moles and a recent case of squamous cell skin cancer. ... He is always cheerful, and I greatly appreciate the fact that he asks about my other medical conditions and other life happenings, which lets me know that I am not just a number for him. Also I have found his staff to be friendly and helpful, on one occasion squeezing my son in for an appointment while he was home over his Thanksgiving break from college. For people who complain about wait-times, my advice is to bring a book and get over yourself.

... Through treatment, testing for various conditions and referring me to other high-quality specialists, my health has been restored. It was a long road, but I’m grateful to Dr. Lowitt for helping me through extremely tough circumstances. He is a gifted clinician that cares about patients, and underlying causes of problems rather than getting you in and out of his office. That’s not easy to find. Plus he’s a really nice guy and the office staff is nice as well. The office is busy, because people want to be seen by him, but that didn’t stop him from always responding by phone if I left a message.

Mark Lowitt (MD) is by far the best dermatologist I have ever known. He is very through in his examination and he takes ample time to explain his diagnosis and answer any questions. He cured me of a medical condition that eluded several doctors. I have also been treated by his associate PA who is also very capable. His waiting room is comfortable and his staff is most courteous and professional.
