Hands down THE best place to start your salsa dancing journey in San Diego!

Instructors: David and Jennifer will give you the tools to feel confident on the dance floor in a welcoming and fun environment. Very down to earth couple who wear their love for the art of Salsa on their sleeves.

Lessons: Classes are often large. Material is broken down into understandable pieces. The instructors are kind enough to demo at the end of class so that you can record the material and practice what you've learned at home. Download their Majesty in Motion app to view their class schedule and book your classes.

Venue: Beautiful new studio. Bright colors and plenty of dance floor space. The space consists of two large studios, one smaller studio for private lessons, and an office for staff. Restrooms available. They've just relocated here so there's much more magic to come, I'm sure!

By the way, they teach Bachata here as well!

David and Jenn are GREAT instructors. I danced with them 2008-2011, and even with the passed time, their fundamentals, footwork and techniques stick with me to this day. If you commit the time (with classes and their teams), you WILL improve, dance at a level you never thought possible. Their style is funky and FUN! If you're thinking about learning, go to MIM. It'll be an awesome experience and give you a lifelong skill.

Majesty is one of the best salsa companies to go to if you're a beginner and never danced salsa before. They also offer intermediate courses for those that want to grow in their salsa skills. I think the best thing about Majesty is how often they have classes and you can make them fit into your schedule. The instructors and all the dancers are nice and friendly. They have awesome salsa socials as well and there will be a familiar friendly face.

Really enjoyed my time at Majesty. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. Crowd is a good mix and they make you feel really comfortable. Speed of the class is based on how well the class is doing; so every class you learn something new! Looking forward to going back for some private lessons with the hubby!

I started off with Majesty in Motion about a year ago. I didn't know how to salsa and didn't have a dance background. I started off with the group classes and picked up a lot. I have since joined one of the beginner teams and love it even more. All of the instructors are good. No partner required, rotating is encouraged because it makes everyone a better dancer. Sometimes the classes have way too many guys or ladies, but that's not the fault of the studio. It's just how schedules line up.
