When the body fails us, it's never fun. Then when the trouble is in the orthopedic realm, the unpleasantness generally is heightened by confusion over what really is the problem. That is where Dr. Letgolts comes in handy. He listens, he looks, he feels and with knowledge that is quite extraordinary of the mechanics and anatomy of the body, he diagnoses and treats. His manner is so reassuring; he simply makes a patience feel safe and secure. Best of all, he gets results. I found this man by mere chance; ...Original recommendation
I was improperly diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff when I finally found Dr. Letgolts. Not only did I not have to get surgery, but he correctly diagnosed me with having different leg lengths which was compounded with my right ankle not properly functioning since I got surgery causing my entire body to get thrown off. Since then, we have corrected my leg difference and right ankle, in addition to my back pain, extremely hunched forward shoulders, and thrown off hip alignment. I feel better than I ever have before! I can especially tell now when I am lifting weights or doing crossfit that my body is no longer fighting against itself and creating weird compensation methods. Next up is to fix the muscular imbalances I have from being in such a messed up position for so long, but I'm confident he'll get me there!
If a doctor ever tells you that you need surgery, go to Dr. Letgolts first. And be sure to tell him everything you are feeling! Your shoulder might be in pain but instead of just easing the pain he actually treats the problem. And the crazy thing is the problem could be coming from somewhere entirely different than your shoulder!
Dr. Letgolt came highly recommended to us by another doctor friend of ours after my husband's knee surgery, for routine PT following such procedures. I am so glad I accompanied my husband on his first visit, and listened carefully to everything he explained.
I myself had been told 10 months earlier by a renowned Sports Medicine Clinique, that I would need knee orthoscopique surgery for my meniscus tear and that I could be approved for hip replacement right away given the findings in my MRIs of right knee and hip.
It was fortuitous that a) as husband and wife we couldn't both have knee surgery at the same time, with no one to take care of us and b) that being an avid yoga practitioner of 20 years and yoga teacher, I thought I could work out the knee problem by myself, and work on my ego in the meanwhile to become ok with hip replacement at 57! I asked him at that visit if he could help me too, and immediately called the Sports Medicine doctor to prescribe physical therapy for me as the first line of action.
Since then I have seen Dr. Letgolt some 15 sessions and I immediately felt that he addressed issues I had been complaining about for years. Namely leg length discrepancies which was causing me problems, and snowballing into all the other muscular/skeletal issues I was experiencing due to compensation.
As a yoga instructor I was very much in touch with my body and could feel all the nuances of change and limitations of range of motion I was experiencing despite practicing more and more to overcome these problems.
From the moment he made my temporary orthotics (yes temporary at low cost at first, until he can see improvements) I felt a weight and compression lifted from my entire right side, from my neck to shoulder, back, waist and gluteus all the way to my feet. I felt that I was standing up straight, taller and the feeling was emotionally liberating. For those of us who suffer chronic pain, you understand that emotional liberation from the bondage of pain and malfunction when someone understands, addresses it and the pain is eventually alleviated.
His therapeutic methods of gradually releasing the tight muscles, tendons and fascia around the problem areas due to misuse of the muscles and joints along with the exercises have brought me 100% release, not just in my daily functions but also in my yoga practice.
I can once again enjoy my activities and practice yoga without the mind chatter of pain and free of physical limitations.
We are now addressing a few other minor areas of problem before they become debilitating. As much as he encourages me to go about my life and not see him anymore, I plan to keep him as a part of my routine well being component even if it is once every two months!!
I am a big proponent of well being and self healing as opposed to going under the knife and in today's static world of being at computers and in cars, having his professional insight and keen eye for posture is very useful.
His staff are very nice and accommodating, beautiful office and timely visits as well as validation parking.
Alan is a true master at his craft. His ability to diagnose and treat his patients is second to none. I was first referred to Alan after a pretty bad motorcycle accident in 2013. I had been being treated by another PT who could not seem to address the injuries I sustained. Within a few weeks Dr. Letgolt had me back and better than ever. He has since been my physical therapist and helped me recover from another motorcycle accident and a high speed collision while at the racetrack. If it weren't for Alan, I could not continue do my ridiculously fun job.
I have suffered for over 2 years with tennis elbow and have seen orthopedic surgeons have had steroid shots and was told to have surgery... but then was recommended to Dr. Letgolts for PT, with just a few treatments & at home exercises, I immediately began to feel positive results in my elbow! I would highly recommend him & I have to many of my friends too!
Dr. Letgolts has an excellent knowledge of both the mechanics and structure of how the body works in harmony together! Thank you for giving me freedom from pain & the use of my arm back!!! Susan
I am what is sometimes referred to as a "difficult-to-treat" patient - having suffered from debilitating chronic migraines for many years. I have worked with MDs, acupuncturists, chiropractors, osteopaths, holistic practitioners, massage therapists and energetic healers.
I would rate Dr. Letgolts as one of the highest level practitioners I have encountered. An average chiropractor will do a cursory diagnostic analysis and then impose a set of generalized actions that more or less address the problem in a fairly generic way. On the other hand, the experience of Dr. Letgolts's approach is one of precision and specificity. There is a sense of profound connection with the core areas from which the pain originates - not a coarse approximation but a highly specific and nuanced engagement with the dynamics of the problem.
The term I have coined for the experience of Dr. Letgolts's work is "Kinesthetic Empathy" - the comforting sense, conveyed through physical therapeutic care, that the practitioner has a powerful understanding of the pain that I am experiencing - gets right to the core of the problem, facilitates healing and offers relief from chronic pain.
Dr. Letgolts is also an excellent listener and communicator - he is able to take in a great range of data and work with a complex set of issues and symptoms to approach the problem in a dynamic way.
I live out of the Los Angeles area, and I have made a point of seeing Dr. Letgolts whenever I am in town.
Many years ago, I injured my shoulder. Subsequently, I visited multiple doctors and physical therapists; all to no avail. Recently, I was referred to Dr. Letgolts and, within a very short time, he gave me back my full range of motion and substantially diminished my chronic pain. I couldn't recommend him more highly!
Masterful physical therapist. I saw him for pain in my hip which I had for several years but didn't quite know what to do about it. He scanned me up and down, did some tests and figured out exactly what was wrong. His diagnosis also corrected other postural issues I had which I did not realize affected my hip. He truly set me on the right foot.Original recommendation
I can honestly say Dr. Letgolts changed my life! Sounds dramatic I know, but it is so true. I came to him after being an avid runner and a painful knee kept me from running for the past 4 years. I really didn't have much hope, I thought I just "had bad knees" and there wasn't much to be done. It's been 3 sessions and I just went on my first pain free run in years! I was over the moon excited. Dr. Letgolts didn't just treat my knee, he traced back the misalignment to an old ankle injury that was never properly healed. This was causing displacement in my knee which was pulling on my hip which was clicking and causing tension in my right shoulder and neck which had led me to terrible "migraines" that weren't really migraines at all! So going to see him for a knee problem, I have solved 4 problems i previously thought were completely unrelated. Hence: Dr. Letgolts really has changed my life! And to top it off the office manger Jeff, is an absolute doll. I can not recommend this Physical Therapy office enough.
I have been a very active person all of my life competing in sports at a high level. The many years of hard training along with injuries and several surgeries have taken a major toll on my body to the point where I was seeing chiropractors up to 3 times weekly to help me deal with the pain. Fortunately one of the chiropractors suggested that I see Dr. Letgolts as she felt Letgolts was the best option for me as my chronic neck pain was related to my feet and how I made contact with the ground. She also intrigued me by describing Dr. Letgolts as an engineer of the body where he has a unique approach by dealing with the body as a structure where all parts are connected and impact one another.
I took this advice over 10 years ago and scheduled an initial appointment with Dr. Letgolts which was one of the best decisions I have ever made. He did address my feet and leg length issue with orthotics which I wear every day. He also worked on my chronic neck/back issues. As I result I went from seeing chiropractors several times every week to seeing Dr. Letgolts once every two months for maintenance visits. In my opinion, Letgolts is the "The Best" at dealing with the body and I am very thankful for the doctor who referred me to Dr. Letgolts initially. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Letgolts to anyone dealing with pain.
I have been going to various chiropractors, doctors,
Acupuncture, Pilates and physical therapy for 7 years since i was diagnosed with Severe spinal stenosis and spondylolithesis. Everyone has tried to help me but i am a very difficult case.. My internist told me about Allen Letgolts and his method.. She said her patients had good results.. I was not going in with a positive attitude since i haven't had any great results. Surgery was not an option for me..
From the first time i went i was walking more erect than i have for many years.. It gave me confidence that i can do more than usual.. I am not pain free but at least i can
Walk further and look a hell of a lot better when i have to.He is a wonderful diagnostician and seems to know what the heck u need to do.. When he stretches me and moves things around it can hurt but when i get up i feel fabulous and nothing hurts.. He's very honest about what he can do to help you and what the limitations are.. Certainly worth a visit or two to see for yourself..
I heard about Dr. Letgolts from a colleague who praised his work with her issues stemming from Fibromyalgia. I too suffer from Fibromyalgia and cervical disease for 25 years of intermittent pain from cervical disk disease.
I spent too much time on my stationary bike one evening, woke up with mild lower back pain and went to my usual doctor (MD) who administered trigger point injections of Lidocaine.. When the Lidocaine wore off, I could hardly walk down the stairs from my office to the parking lot.. I had the worst back pain - pain which I never experienced before.
I went back to my doctor who gave me a Torridol shot, Rx for Prednisone and pain killers. He said the pain would go away soon. It didn't and only increased in unbearable intensity. So another Torridol shot and no more Prednisone just Advil and pain killers. I had an MRI and herniated lumbar and sacral disks appeared. I knew these were not new results.
No sleep, working in pain I was sent to UCLA Comprehensive Spine Care Clinic which was a fiasco - the awful Dr. wrote 3 recommendations on the paper covering the patients' exam table -- PT and meds, epidural, surgery. He referred me to the UCLA PT Clinic upstairs from the Spine Center. This was a joke -- the wait was 3-6 months for an appointment and the kind receptionist told me that with my insurance I could get good private care..
I saw an MD Physiatrist who was much kinder than the brusque doctor at UCLA Spine Center and he spoke of the same options. I was in such desperate pain that I even found a surgeon and made an appointment.
Before that appointment with the surgeon ( which I cancelled) I spoke with my colleague and she told me to go see Dr. Letgolts. Thank heavens I did. He is wonderful, professional and inspires confidence. He is all hands on physical therapy and has great knowledge of the mechanics of the human body.
After just a couple weeks of treatment my pain subsided. It is almost fully cured now except for some numbness in my toes and side of one calf.
I find the treatments and exercises are immensely helpful and Dr. Letgolts has worked miracles for me. I was depressed, couldn't do my normative activities except I needed to work and did so in excruciating pain.
I'm back to being myself thanks to Dr. Letgolts. I recommended him unequivocally. He's amazing! I also like his staff.
My experience with Letgolts Method Physical Therapy has been far and away the best medical care I have ever received. In part due to an injury I sustained in 2006, and in part due to some underlying orthopedic issues, I have had chronic back pain for nearly 9 years. I largely ignored the problem except during major flares when it slapped me in the face that I had physical limitations that were undeniable. After the birth of my 2nd child, my back and hip pain was so severe that I could not walk for a month. At that point, I had no choice but to seek help. I saw a chiropractor for almost one year who relieved the hip pain, but made no headway on my back pain. I saw a sports medicine physician at UCLA who was even less helpful, except that she mentioned Dr. Letgolts as she was leaving the room. On a whim and in desperation, I made an appointment.
Within 30 minutes, he had explained the root causes of my problem and had developed a comprehensive treatment plan. He was kind, warm, engaging and professional, and I was hopeful that he would be of some help. After only a few weeks, I saw a remarkable change in my posture and gait, and my pain began to subside. Within 4-6 weeks, my 9-year back pain was resolved. Unfortunately, a new spot crept up as my spine and extremities re-equilibrated. Undaunted, Dr. Letgolts and his esteemed colleague, Ana, developed a new plan. I began working more with Ana on exercises in the office, and she never judged me when I couldn't keep up with them at home. She was always positive and supportive. I've since alternated visits with the two, and now as of this week, I am almost entirely pain free. Just yesterday, Ana developed an exercise that immediately relieves the pain when it begins to occur. I can assure you that I will make time for that one. I predict that in the next 2 weeks, the entire problem will be resolved.
In sum, I have never been so impressed with medical providers in my life.
P.S. My husband and I are both physicians. He saw Dr. Letgolts for a less severe problem and was equally impressed by him. If you have pain, pick up the phone. They will take great care of you.
P.P.S. A shout-out is also deserved for the front office staff, Jeff and Gaalan. They are so kind, so funny, and make visits to the office a true pleasure. This is a class act medical practice.
Great experience learning about the physiology behind my pain, understanding my options for pain relief, attentive care and upbeat attitudes! Wish I could make this kind of therapy mandated as first line of defense against the malaise and malfunctioning of modern living! Go!Original recommendation
I am totally happy with Dr. Letgolts and Anna. My husband originally came here a year ago for nagging back problems which Dr. Letgolts was able to correct, and now he does Pilates and 3 minutes of exercise every day and he's doing great. The amazing story, though, is what Dr. Letgolts and Anna have been able to accomplish with my children. First, my daughter, who is special needs and has been diagnosed with a degenerative neuropathy and wears plastic DAFOS's to walk, which she could barely do. After 1 month of intensive physical therapy, my daughter is out of her plastic braces, and walking better than she has in YEARS! Kudos to the caring and talented Anna who patiently has been reteaching my daughter to walk, after years of relying on plastic braces. We are excited to see how far we can go with this therapy, but it is exciting to see my daughter's legs begin to work for the first time in years!!!. Suffice it to say it has been a real gift from God to our family. Thank you Dr. Letgolts and Anna and staff. My adult son wants to write his own review of how much Dr. Letgolts has helped him with his poor posture and recovery from two concussions.
I am a 44 year old fitness trainer, physical therapy aide, and aging athlete with many past injuries: ACL reconstruction, herniated lumbar & cervical discs, dislocated/fractured shoulder, compression fractures of the thoracic vetebrae, and the list goes on. I have spent over $60,000 on surgeons, chiropractors, and (3 dozen) physical therapists all over the country. So, I speak with as much experience as any professional athlete with a lifetime of injuries and over-used body parts.
Dr. Letgolts is easily one of the best therapists in the country if not the world. He has an extensive knowledge of pain related issues; muscle/scar adhesions, nerve impingements, myofascial interactions, etc. and his cause & effect treatments & exercises work wonders. I have sent 100's of people in his direction including my mother. Many had seen other types of health professionals to no avail. After just a few appts. all of them have thanked me for referring them to 'Allen'.
If it were not for Dr. Letgolts I am certain I would not be as healthy, active and pain free as I am today. I have learned a great deal from his treatments and I consult with him regularly for treating my clients (many of whom are also his patients).
Dr. Letgolts is a really amazing doctor. I saw him for 6 months and he helped me get back on my feet. I've been to many physical therapists and he truly is the best. He gave me individualized attention and he was also caring and thoughtful. He was also very knowledgeable of my injury and assessed my issues immediately. He helped me get back on my feet. His staff is very kind and caring as well. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Letgolts is incredible. His engineering background coupled with his non-adhearance to traditional western medicine dogma has produced a gem of a doctor who is able to think outside of the box in order to resolve plaguing issues.
I have been suffering from all kinds of strange pains throughout my entire body for years. I have been to various traditional doctors and none diagnosed my problem and instead just treated the symptoms with medications. Within 5 minutes of seeing me, Dr. Letgolts diagnosed my issue which had to do with my gait - I have a genetic distortion which was causing me to walk badly. This was causing pains all the way up to my neck. I even had a traditional western PT tell me that my gait was "just the way I walked". They never suggested that it was sub-optimal or causing my pains.
Thanks to Dr. Letgolts and his immediate diagnosis and subsequent adjustments and orthotics, my body feels much better. I can not recommend him enough. He is really amazing!
I've only been to Dr. Letgolts once, but that's all it took for me to know I'd found an amazing doctor who could help me.
My situation: I hurt my knee a few years ago, did not feel comfortable with my doctor who saw me, and I just allowed it to heal naturally, as he recommended. Now, a few years later, I hurt the same knee, but in a different manner. Running and physical activity are very important to me, so being unable to run, lift weights, row, etc., has been difficult, even for this short period of time.
Dr. Letgolts made me feel very comfortable. He allowed me to explain my story, and he listened to me without interrupting. He was thorough in his explanations but not confusing, and he explained to me what was going on with my body. He also had a warm bedside manner. From my experience, it's hard to heal when you feel uncomfortable at the doctor's office, particularly when it's necessary to relax your muscles long enough for the doctor to assess your issues. But because of Dr. Letgolt's kind and professional demeanor, even the first visit was not awkward.
I left his office feeling relieved that my knee problems are going to be taken care of, and that they will be addressed from the source of the problem rather than having a doctor give me treatment that results in a band-aid type effect, or a system that ensures I will need treatments for years and years to come. I feel confident that my treatment is going to go well, and I'm truly thankful to have found Dr. Letgolts.

My husband originally came here a year ago for nagging back problems which Dr. Letgolts was able to correct, and now he does Pilates and 3 minutes of exercise every day and he’s doing great. For over a year I have had trouble walking due to arthritis and hip pain. I had been told by my orthopedist and a consultant that nothing could be done but the pain to walk was unbearable, Dr. Letgolts did an extensive assessment of my pain, walk and arm movement. He told me that the orthodics I was wearing were not doing the job and that I needed an orthodic that was a whole sole long. Just using a temporary insole that he modified meant that I walked without pain for the first time in months. He is just a master who really listens and then treats. I have had just four sessions with him and already my life has changed – not running yet but walking well.
I wholeheartedly recommend physical therapist Allen Letgolts. I am a 58-year-old dancer who, until the age of 53, had never suffered chronic or serious physical problems. Then I began experiencing paralyzing upper back and neck pain. I found myself subject to an array of ineffective doctors, an experience in which I’m sure I’m not alone. Luckily, I found Allen through a friend’s recommendation. Amazingly, he was able to correctly diagnose my problem during the first visit, and treat it with a minimum of subsequent visits. He possesses a unique talent for diagnosis that is based on his keen intellect, his inherent intuition, along with the dogged determination of a good detective, and an impressive body of medical knowledge. Importantly, he’s able to think creatively and not afraid to think “outside the box”. Dr. Letgolts is generously giving of his time, and forthcoming with information. His patient’s best interests come first; a rarity these days. I am still dancing, and I cannot thank him enough.

As an Octogenarian, with long-term problems, I am confident in recommending the treatments and healing abilities of Dr. Allen Letgolts– The therapy I have received from the doctor has, and continues to be, extremely helpful. The many year’s-long stiffness in my neck, and lack of “range or motion,” has been greatly-reduced. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who suffers serious muscle/tendon problems — especially to those who have gained little help from other, lesser-trained, therapists.
On 3 occasions over the last 10 years conservative, capable, and accomplished surgeons have told me that, although I could try physical therapy briefly, dire consequences were possible if I delayed surgery. On each occasion, and for 3 separate conditions, Dr. Letgolts obtained results that put me at the top of the recovery statistics. I have used no one but Dr. Letgolts since.
A couple of months after having joint replacement surgery I was prescribed physical therapy. I ended up wasting one of my 12 yearly visits at another local physical therapist. I found Dr. Letgolts on my providers website. On my initial visit he spent a half hour talking to me one on one, getting a complete understanding of my history. He also thoroughly reviewed my posture, stance and ability to walk. He does not overbook, so he was not running from room to room tending to other patients…it was truly one on one PT. Dr. Letgolts then went to work on my leg really getting into the muscles and stretching everything. He has been helping me relearn to walk, and train my muscle to start firing again…my glutes have been a problem as my incision from surgery affected my glutes muscles. He also corrected my stance and posture…he created orthodics for my shoes and within a week and a half I am walking normally again. I am having another surgery in a few month…I plan on starting physical therapy with him one week after surgery.
I have worked with Dr. Allen Letgolts professionally and as a patient for the last 13 years. As a personal trainer who specializes in post-rehabilitation training and working with special populations, e.g. people with various orthopedic conditions, I am very discriminating about who I send my clients to for treatment. With a background in not only high level physical therapy, but also engineering, applied math and computer science, as well as competitive athletics and dance, he has a highly analytical mind. It allows him to look at a whole patient, rather than just a small part that\’s hurting. The cause of pain is often somewhere completely different and he is a master at diagnosing. This holistic approach has made him very successful at treating difficult conditions that others were unable to treat. In case of chronic conditions, where regular treatments are necessary, he is one of the best at keeping his patients as pain free as possible. He is very committed to his profession and his passion shows in the way he deals with his patients. If you have gone to different physical therapists but your problems still have not been resolved and you are walking around in pain, I recommend him highly.
Dr. Allen Letgolts has provided excellent professional diagnostic and therapeutic help with a chronic neck nerve problem. He is a brilliant and methodical physical therapist. I recommend him with utmost confidence.
Dr. Allen Letgolts is AWESOME! For 15 Years I lived with severely inhibited range of motion in my ankle that eventually also started causing problems with my knee, restricting my activities because of pain and swelling. I\’m a very athletic person, and having to cut back on things like tennis and running was starting to become depressing. I had been told by two different orthopedic surgeons there was nothing they could do, and saw three other physical therapists that had very little impact. From the first visit when Dr. Letgolts said with confidence that he could indeed \”fix\” me, I started seeing results. While experiencing amazing and immediate changes, I cried tears of joy in his office twice. Within literally one month I have almost gained back full range of motion! It\’s like a miracle to me! His intuition, creativity, dedication and unique approach made all the difference. I have the utmost respect and confidence in his abilities and highly recommend him!

Four years ago I had my lumbar spine fused at three levels, one year after having had a total right knee replacement. When I awoke from the back surgery my left leg was paralyzed. For the next three years, I had intensive physical therapy but I was still in a great deal of pain most of the time. My personal trainer kept telling me that I needed to visit this marvelous physical therapist and I finally got around to doing as he suggested. I’m so glad I listened to him because it has made all the difference for me. Until I met Dr. Letgolts, I didn’t realize that my previous treatment had been focused on dealing with my symptoms, not on the underlying causes of my pain. What Dr. Letgolts has achieved for me over the last several months has been nothing short of miraculous! The process is not without its own painful moments but it’s all worthwhile. I’m learning how to walk correctly, for starters, and slowly but surely, my pain issues are being addressed and eliminated, one by one. It is not an exaggeration to say that he has truly changed my life for the better. And on top of everything else, he’s a truly wonderful guy!
Thanks so much for helping me eliminate my chronic tennis elbow and shoulder pain so I can enjoy playing competitive tennis again. You are truly a master engineer of the human body, which is why I continue to send my many aging, yet athletic friends to you for help.
I am a personal trainer, holistic life coach, and biomechanics specialists. I have collaboratively worked with many physical therapists and orthopedic surgeons to improve my clients recovery, structural alignment, and general health. Of all the people I have had the privilege to work with Dr. Letgolts blows all of them away. So much, that I have referred all my clients to him and I am now one of his patients. If you are truly looking to get to the root of the problem and fix it, then start with him. It will save you time, money and tons of heart ache. Most PT\’s are trying to fix the symptom which causes them to chase the pain. Dr. Letgolts delves deeper and discovers the true underlying cause. It might be a leg length difference, an old childhood injury, or even structural foot problems. He will investigate all of it. I had recurring back pain and my knees were developing patellar tendonitis from all the sports, activities and training that I was doing. Within one appointment Dr. Letgolts had determined that I had a significant leg length difference, which completely changed the function of my feet and hips as well as the rest of my body. After correcting my imbalances, with proper orthotics (about 90% of them are made incorrectly) I was pain free and back to my activities. However, the funny thing was, as happy as I was about my recovery, I think Dr. Letgolts was even more excited. He is truly passionate about helping people and really getting them fixed. This isn’t a PT place where they just try to get you to book more and more appointments. Dr. Letgolts fixes you once and for all.
I have been a serious athlete all my life and have been a fitness trainer since 1990. After attending CU Boulder and living the skiing & mountain biking lifestyle in Vail, CO, I moved to LA where I met Dr. Letgolts in 2000. Over my 12 seasons of moguls, cliffs, and steep rocky trails I had fractured my spine, fracture/dislocated my shoulder/collar bone, herniated a disc in my lower back and had had a full ACL reconstruction. Dr. Letgolts was the only health professional that was able to help greatly relieve my constant pain. Today at age 40, I can still do handstand pushups and I also ski, climb, lift, run and mountain bike with intensity 5 – 7 days a week (an average of 12 hours). I send 100% of my clients with orthopedic pain to Dr, Letgolts first. Dr. Letgolts does not want any patient to become a \’regular\’. He rarely sees any of my clients more than four times total. He teaches as he heals; and, as a result, today I have become one of the best trainers because I have now learned more than I ever expected… the hard way. I owe Dr. Letgolts my life as I know it. Today, I am still in athletic-chronological denial: I successfully ski moguls like I did when I was 25…pain free!
This man really knows what he\’s doing. Suffered from severe calf cramps. Much, much improved. Thanks Doc.
Dr. Allen Letgolts worked a miracle for me. It is because of him that I have any range of motion on the left side of my neck and shoulder. He is a fantastic physical therapist and I would recommend him enthusiastically to anyone.
I came to Dr. Letgolts with issues of leg pain and difficulty walking. His treatments have helped me immeasurably. He has been able to diagnose and focus on the physical causes of my problems and directly treat those areas. He has been instrumental in teaching me how to alleviate the pain with a regimen that I have been able to adopt on my own. I have been able to benefit both from his treatments and the supplemental exercises I have practiced in between sessions. Also of importance, the physical therapy office is run efficiently by a particularly pleasant staff anxious to accommodate one\’s personal schedule. I believe Dr. Letgolts to be extremely knowledgeable, extremely capable, and extremely caring – all this with a sense of humor. That helps, too.

In appreciaton to Dr. Allen Letgolts. Thank you for giving me my life back.
“I credit Dr. Letgolts with enabling me to run marathons and consider him the “Best (DPT) in the West”. While training for the 2002 Los Angeles Marathon, I experienced severe pain that would not allow me to go the distance. Doc immediately diagnosed the source of my pain and began treatment that yielded excellent results. I completed that marathon exhilarated and uninjured, thus launching my marathon career and a passion for endurance running. He’s my hero.” . . . . .Habiba
Dr. Letgolts is by far the most knowledgable and effective physical therapist I know. His athletic background, coupled with an astute grasp of scientific and medical theory makes him a real lifesaver. Quite honestly, I don\’t know what I\’d do without him. Even better, I\’ve had to make very few visits to his office in the last two years!
A former ballet dancer, I was always told that my injuries were permanent and the damage irreparable. Dr. Letgolts has taught me how to be more in tune with my body and what to focus on with respect to strength and conditioning. Not only do I feel better, but I’m enjoying the flexibility and balance I had when I was in my late teens and early twenties. Thank you, Dr.

Several years ago, I was referred to Dr. Letgolts for treatment of a long-term back problem that puzzled many chiropractors and health practitioners. Upon my first visit, he swiftly diagnosed the problem and treated the area. I felt an immediate shift and improvement. Since then, Dr. Letgolts has provided hands-on instruction for additional strengthening and stretching, and I’ve been able to accelerate my exercise routines and perform well without pain. Professionally, I highly recommend Dr. Letgolts to all of the personal training clients that come to me with pain or movement limitations. I know he will treat them with the highest level of expertise, kindness and great patience.
My name is Doron Menna, I have been a professional Massage Therapist for over 15 years. Four years ago, I woke up with numbness in my right leg and I was in shock. I went to chiropractors and other professionals for assistance. Only 60% of the numbness/pain went away with their assistance. Eventually, one of my clients referred me to Dr Letgolts. I was amazed with his level of knowledge and his ability to diagnose physical problems. I ended up with an orthotic that he recommended which I constantly use. I am no longer in pain. Since Dr. Letgolts was so successful in helping me, I have referred all my clients who have needed help to him. All of them are completely satisfied with his service and are thankful for their improving physical conditions. Over time I learned that a large percentage of orthotic providers do not have the necessary knowledge to treat people correctly. They do not provide the right orthotics, leaving the patients with leg and lower back pains. Dr Letgolts is different.
I am currently having my second series of treatments with Dr. Letgolts, this time for joint replacement. I can simply say that he is absolutely a focused healer. His mind is like an encyclopedia of the human anatomy. His eyes are like xrays that see straight through to the root of your injury. His hands have the strength to repair even the deepest most stubborn problems, and in my case pain that was caused by severe injuries I incurred 20 years ago. I am sure that even Kryptonite could not block him from his mission. He has a strong presence but is also quite sensitive, and he listens carefully at every visit adjusting his routine to the current weaknesses and pain you are experiencing. He remembers every issue from every visit. His staff is professional and so friendly and his facility is clean, comfortable and most importantly efficient. He will be my PT for life or for as long as he keeps working!
I arrived at Dr. Letgolts office in very severe pain. My neck was pounding and this recurring condition was worse than usual. I am now entirely pain FREE and have improved my posture/movement. This has given me a very welcome freedom in my work. My only wish is that I had begun working with Dr. Letgolts earlier.

After more than 15 years of treatment and failure I found Dr. Letgolts. Within an hour he had accurately diagnosed my problem, began treatment and gave me specific instructions on what I could do on my own. All of which resulted in noticeable IMPROVEMENT. Dr. Letgolts is a thorough thinker whose explanations and instructions are clear, concise and easy to follow. Way t’go, Dr. L. You’re a class act!
I strongly recommend Dr. Letgolts. I researched Dr. Letgolts before I saw him, and found his background intriguing – he has formal training in physiology, math and dance; so three difference perspectives on the human body in motion. My experience with him is that these perspectives give him a powerful and maybe unique ability to diagnosis and fix. I went to see Dr. Letgolts concerned about pain in my hips, weakness in my right leg, and residual flare-ups from a year-old lower back problem. I also had chronic, moderate pain in my neck which I had been living with for several decades – but wasn\’t really looking for any solution to that. He immediately identified some root causes to my condition (differing leg lengths, incomplete PT/recovery from prior leg surgery, hip alignment, etc.) – and jumped right into resolving the root causes (rather than my direct symptoms). I was a pretty compliant patient, and noticed positive results in weeks. Within months, all my concerns had been addressed – including (to my surprise) the neck pain I had neglected to mention. I really could not be happier, and I don\’t think I would have had a comparable result if I had gone to someone else.

“Dr. Allen Letgolts worked a miracle for me. It is because of him that I have any range of motion on the left side of my neck and shoulder. He is a fantastic physical therapist and I would recommend him enthusiastically to anyone.”
