  We met Sam on short notice as we urgently wanted to have a childbirth education class with our baby's due date imminent. Sam was kind enough to accommodate us and we had a crash course with her. Sam was an kind, down to earth, intelligent, and an excellent instructor! We learned everything we needed to know from her and were fully prepared for our baby's birth come delivery day.
  
  I cannot say enough great things about Sam. She covered every topic we needed to know with the perfect amount of detail - even ones we had never even thought of. She was very easy to understand and explained things very well.
  
  Again, we couldn't be happier that we chose Sam. We would highly recommend her to anyone! Totally knowledgeable, genuine, helpful, and thoughtful!

  Sam is amazing. I'm not sure why it took me so long to leave a review but just realized I hadn't. I was skeptical about having a doula to begin with. A friend sent one to our hospital room after we almost lost the baby at 24 weeks. She encouraged us to consider hiring a doula for the remainder of the pregnancy and birth. I consider myself a good partner and didn't think I needed "help" with my wife during the delivery. But after I met Sam I was convinced that it was a good idea and it DEFINITELY was! The birth was a dream birth really but mostly because Sam was there to guide us through the process, explain what to expect and to help navigate during the 13-hour labor. She was calm, confident and encouraging and supported me to support my wife. As a lesbian I can't even begin to describe what it feels like to work with someone who respects me as a mother even though I didn't give birth. She was actually the first person in the process to validate that I wasn't "the dad" but that I was a mom too and not just my wife who was carrying the baby. It meant the world to me to know I had her on my side. She has kept up with us even now my daughter is 7 months, she has become a friend to the family. If the money is the only thing deterring you from hiring Sam, scrounge up your change, skip a few Starbucks, and make it happen! You'll be really glad you did!

  Put simply.. We love her!
  
  In need of more detail...
  Sam feels like your best friend - with the knowledge you need her to have to help you and your partner through the most challenging but magical experience in your life.
  
  From the moment we met her we loved her confidence, genuinity, and positive/open minded attitude.
  
  I didn't feel like she had her own agenda. Most Doula's will tell you it's all about you - with Sam you can feel it. It was important to me that I had someone who I could feel comfortable not having to feel the need to be polite to. When you're in pain the last thing you want to worry about is hurting someone's feelings so a particular level of familiarity is necessary. Sam has a way about her that makes your friendship feel 'real' in a very short time.
  
  She was great about coming to us after our son went to bed..And never made us feel like we were on a clock while talking and planning with her.
  
  We were so happy to have a successful VBAC (unmedicated) together; and without her in my team (alongside my husband and wonderful OBGYN - Paul Crane) I really don't think it would have been possible.
  
  If you want a bestie with a switched on birth without fear brain.. She's your girl!

  Samantha was reffered to us by a mutual friend in late 2013 during my pregnancy with our first child and right from the start she was nothing short of wonderful. Over the of course of our pregnancy, she was right by our side providing us with unconditional guidance and support and at times went above and beyond in order to help us through the bumps along the way.
  
  Samantha not only provides an amazing level of ongoing supportive for both the mother and non-birthing partner, but also has a wealth of pregnancy, birthing, and post-partum knowledge that is truly invaluable when it comes to navigating the process of giving birth.
  
  She is much much than just a Doula in our eyes... She's a life long friend and we are so lucky to have found her.
  
  We highly reccomend Samantha to anyone who's looking for a world class Doula!

  There are many reasons my husband and I would recommend Samantha for doula services. On our first meeting, she was incredibly present and connected, immediatly putting us at ease as first time parents with no birthing experience. She is thoughtful and informed, but most astonishingly, Samantha possesses that rare genuine and loving air of confidence that makes a caregiver most effective.
  
  When she came over during my labor, the entire energy in the apartment shifted. She showed a natural intuition in how to keep me active working through my contractions. Her presence is gentle, unnassuming, but assured and secure. She kept my husband very involved and I successfully labored at home with them for four hours, and was already 8 cm dilated by the time we moved to the birthing center.
  
  My delivery was complicated, a last minute breech and hospital transfer. Samantha's guidance during my active labor certainly served me later, in the hospital, as I fought to naturally deliver my breech son, feet first. We were both healthy, and I was truly grateful for the confidence she had instilled in me, which played no small part in giving me the strength for such a delivery.
  
  During the post partum visit, it was clear that Samantha's investment in her clients is spiritual for her as well, and that she truly cares about our new little family. My husband and I feel honored to have her among a small circle of people that truly experienced the birth of our boy.
