We started with Invisalign in 1999 working on a research project with them on bicuspid extractions. We worked weekly with their engineers, all with no financial relationship. Whether it's Invisalign, standard braces, or lingual treatment, the mode of correction takes a back seat to the outcome and patient preference. The finish has got to be the same quality no matter how we start. But most of the time when patients walk into our office, we know what they want and that they don't want braces. Because of aesthetics and comfort, Invisalign opens the door for patients that normally would not seek treatment. Read more
From the minute you walk into this clinic you feel at ease. The staff was warm and welcoming from the very start! Dr. Kunik could not have been more gracious and took time to meet me and make me feel welcome. Bea, one of his ortho assistants was amazing! Start to finish she explained everything she was doing, how she was going to do it, and why. She was friendly, professional and caring. I'm always very nervous when it comes to orthodontic treatment and her warm demeanor alleviated that quickly -- thank you Bea! I couldn't be more happy with my treatment!Original recommendation
I just finished Invisalign with Dr. Kunik. I have to preface this review by saying that Invisalign is a huge commitment and is extremely inconvenient/annoying at times (e.g., cookouts, dates, etc.). Don't invest the money if you're not willing to commit to full time wear. That said, if you do plan to do Invisalign, you'll be happy with the results and I strongly recommend choosing Dr. Kunik. My teeth had become very crowded and it was getting uncomfortable and looked bad. I wanted to resolve the issue, but I had a limited amount of time because of plans to move in 11 months. Dr. Kunik started me on Invisalign and had it finished in about 10 months. He and his staff are very friendly and polite. If you're in Austin, definitely choose Dr. Kunik for your orthodontics.Original recommendation
Dr Kunik and his team make my entire Invisalign process so easy and wonderful. I had to get a tooth removed and was devastated at the thought of not having a tooth while my teeth shifted space for an implant. The team placed a fake tooth into each of my Invisalign trays so no one would ever know the difference! It made me so much more comfortable and the entire experience amazing.Original recommendation
STILL THE BEST! I previously reviewed Dr. Kunik in 2015 after starting Invisalign treatment. I was so impressed with Dr. Kunik and his entire team that I couldn't wait to write a very rare review. I finished my 17 month treatment protocol in December 2016 and wanted to add to my previous comments. It is truly a hallmark of a caring and committed Clinician to be available to former patients 6 months after treatment ends. This week I contacted Dr Kunik with questions about my "clenching" and how that would damage my newly aligned teeth. He took the time to evaluate my bite and asked great insightful questions, which told me that he remembered everything I had ever told him about my history. He is so caring and genuinely interested in each patient! Plus he's funny! He made great treatment suggestions and helped me feel better about options I was considering. Dr. Kunik, Danielle, Beatrice and the entire team are worthy of a 5 Star Plus rating. He is truly a dedicated professional. You should never risk your oral health..You can trust this very professional and caring team to be there for you -- during & after treatment concludes.Original recommendation
At 66 years old, I finally decided to do something about my bite. (I had braces with Dr. Thurman in Fort Worth in 1965. My wisdom teeth messed things up a little in 1968.)Original recommendation
Since then my teeth seem to be slowly "caving in." My bottom teeth touch the back of my top teeth; my bite feels as if it is off; I don't chew meat as easily as I'd like, and it feels as if my tongue is crowded. Over the years, dentists have said I have no real problem - but that braces could improve it if I want to go to that trouble. (One orthodontist said gum grafts might be necessary. Yikes!)
After moving to Austin, I was referred to Dr. Kunik by my new dentist, Dr Cash, who also had Invisalign. Dr Kunik is delightful and optimistic - as are all his staff!
I have begun the recommended one year treatment and it is AMAZING! Easy to do. Easy to live with. Remarkable changes immediately. (Already my tongue has more room!) Little to no discomfort.
I highly recommend it! Your bite is very important and it certainly won't get better on its own. I'm so pleased with this decision. My only regret is that I didn't find Dr. Kunik sooner!
