Great and passionate instructions who brings yoga from the mat to real world. Clear instructions, pay personal details to each student, provide hands on assists and always available before and after classes for questions

Kula yoga has become a an amazing studio in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The owner is committed to bringing new ideas, workshops, classes and a heart-centered community. The instructors are always incredibly warm, helpful, and accepting. They finish each savasana with essential oils and a massage. Kula also is committed to karma yoga and offers a weekly class to benefit varying community resources, from animal centered organizations to women-centered to organizations committed to helping the poor or underserved. Kula is unique because it has accessible prices for anyone in the community and is committed to making yoga available to everyone. The owner offers Chakra Sound Baths, as well as different types of yoga from Buti yoga, to Yin, Vinyasa and slow flow.

Megan's 200-HR Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training greatly exceeded my expectations. The course was extremely well planned, organized and Megan was always very prepared to teach each class. After taking this training I feel very confident and well-equipped to teach yoga to others. My personal yoga practice grew immensely as a result of the training and I experienced significant personal growth throughout the course. Megan truly cares about her students and does all she can to help them succeed. She holds a safe space where you are free to learn, grow and share. I made great friendships throughout training and am grateful for those who I got to share the journey with. I will be forever grateful for this experience and feel it was truly an honor to learn from Megan, a genuine, strong, authentic woman.

***Parking and studio and BEHIND the building. Entrance on Cherry Street.
Loved this place - really good deal if you buy ten classes for $90. Nice space and good instruction. I'm not crazy about hot yoga because I hate feeling like I jumped into a pool when I'm done. Kula is affordable and has lots of time slots yay.

Karolina was an amazing teacher! Her assists are perfectly there when you need them or even when you didn't know you needed them. She uses oils beautifully and holds a really great space!

Absolutely in love with this studio! I just got their 30 days for $30 newbie special and I think I've gone like 12 times and I'm only half way thru the month!

I've been to a few yoga spots in Grand Rapids and while each seemed to offer something they claim is the best in town-heated yoga, small classes, big classes, authentic yoga, yoga mix classes, package specials, yoga training, workshops- Kula seems to have the best of all of that. With small classes, attentive teachers, helpful assists, unique workshops and classes, decent pricing, and friendly yogi's, it has it all for me. Did I mention the studio is super cute and cozy too!?

And when I say unique classes, I just went to a 'chakra cleansing sound bath'- when was the last time you went to that at another studio?! They have another unique class called BUTI as well- it stands for something that I don't remember, but basically it combines tribal dance, yoga, and plyometrics for a fun, sweaty, upbeat workout.

I would say this is one of the friendliest studio I've been to as well. People in the class genuinely seem to want to talk to each other and be inclusive vs. just showing up and leaving right afterwards, or being cliquey with each other.

I'm saying 5 stars people- Get here! Actually, on second thought-don't come... because I want it all to myself!!! Just kidding!!! (but not really)

I had never practiced Yoga at a studio before Kula. I was always intimidated by not knowing flows, or particular poses. When you first walk into Kula, you'll immediately get a sense of warm inclusiveness. The studio is beautiful and all of the instructors are open and have a goal to improve any aspect of your practice that you want. I love the events that they hold (Community night, Inversion Practice, Guest instructors, etc.) and all of the different flows that they teach. Would recommend to any level! :)
