Mint.com

I was hired in May 2008 as employee #21, Mint's "User Experience & Design Guru." I'm not a guru, but I accepted the title.

My initial task was to perform a design & usability inventory on the site. Since completing that, I worked to improve Mint.com through the introduction of familiar and consistent UI interactions, terminology, positioning, language, and introduced a level of pixel-perfection to the visual design of the application. This Apple-influenced attention to detail has been vital in Mint's success through its customers' trust.

I had a hand in every aspect of the product, especially our branching into the mobile space. Almost every pixel on the site is the direct result of my and Jason Putorti's work.

Everyone at Mint contributes to the design. On some projects I was responsible for everything from business case through HTML & CSS execution. On others I gave Val and JP an OmniGraffle document of wireframes and pitched in some feedback later.

If you want to know more about my work at Mint, you should go use it (except it looks a lot less polished now than it did when I left, so please don't attribute that to me).
