  A great dentist and staff. I'm ordinarily pretty scared of having anyone messing with my teeth, but he and his staff know how to do the work painlessly and how to decrease anxiety. If you are a big baby like I am, this is the place to go.

  By far the best dentist I've ever been to. The entire staff is wonderful as well. Even though I was a new patient, they were able to schedule me for an appointment the next day when I had a cavity and toothache. Dr. Root was very professional, pleasant, and efficient. He did an amazing job fixing my cavity and taking care of me as a patient. I literally didn't feel any discomfort during the procedure and my filling looks and feels great. No hidden costs or "extras." Just excellent dentistry.

  I can't say enough good things about Dr. Root and his staff. I've been a customer for longer than I like to think about, since I moved to Austin many years back. When I lived way down south in Oak Hill I made the drive to their Guadalupe St office because it was worth it. It's a very friendly and laid-back atmosphere with great folks.

  Chipped a tooth without dental insurance while in Austin for just a few months. Dr. Root's amazing staff had me in there in just a few days with incredible rates for cash patients, $150-$250 for a chipped tooth. Prices were very up front, rated by the amount of sides of the tooth needing to be filled. They fixed it up perfectly in less than half an hour and even threw in a free quickie exam to make sure I didn't have any other dental issues. Their staff is incredibly sweet and awesome. They even worked with me when I was going to be nearly a half hour late due to an emergency vet visit for our roommate's pooch, and gave my husband a great recommendation for grabbing an iced coffee while he waited for me. Can't recommend them highly enough. GO SEE DOCTOR ROOT!
