Javier Campines Dance

Dance Teacher

What has your move to Los Angeles meant for your career?
I chose to move to Los Angeles in 2008, where my career as a professional dancer has taken on a whole new dimension. I have had the honor to dance with world renowned dancers such as Josie Neglia and Frances Nieves. I also recently founded another dance team in Los Angeles called BEAT Dance Company, a semi-pro team that is continuously expanding. I will soon be starting an amateur team here in LA as well.

Where have you performed or completed?
Most recently, in November 2010, I competed in a competition for Best Male Solo Salsa Dancer in L.A. and placed 4th. I performed and competed internationally at many Salsa and Bachata congresses in in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Las Vegas, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. I also perform at Hollywood events and other private parties. Read more

Javier Campines is a wonderful and dedicated dance instructor. I have taken his salsa and bachata classes for over two years. his classes are so much fun. he always pays attention to the details and he has a passion for teaching. He taught me how to listen to the beat of the music as i didn't grow up with Latin music and had problems getting the beat. Its always a pleasure attending his classes and learning delicate salsa moves from him.

Javier Campines is an Amazing Salsa/Bachata Professional dancer and his passion for the dance and music definitely shows thru his teaching. The 1st part of his lessons usually consists of amazing foot work (a kinda freestyle Afro Cuban salsa which teaches one to improvise on the dance floor). 2nd part amazing partner work which focuses on leading/ following aspects.

... Javier is the real deal and if you want to take your dancing to the next level I implore you to seek him out and give him a try.

For those experienced salsa dancers looking for a challenging salsa class, Javier Campines intermediate/advanced salsa class is the class for you. Friday nights at Moore Dancing in Brentwood, Javier teaches intricate footwork and exciting partner work that will inspire you to come back every week.
An amazing, talented dancer himself, Javier is able to demonstrate correct technique and style to all his students. He personalizes his classes by dancing with his students and giving them individual corrections. His classes are organized, fast-paced, highly technical and just plain fun.
I feel very fortunate to have found such an accomplished instructor that I know without a doubt, will improve my technique, body movement, style and confidence.

It being the first dancing lessons of any kind I've ever taken, I walked in all inside my head second guessing everything. Then Javier walked into the room with this vibe like, I'm thankful you all are here, now it's time to get you dancing. He popped in the music and boom! We were learning, he was joking, he was polite when correcting mistakes, and trust I had many, but not just in action but also in tone of voice. Down to earth, respectful young man. ... Nothing feels better than investing in yourself and feeling like your person was increasing in worth. I want to make dance a staple in my life, and Javier's class is clearly one of the places I needed to be to start clipping away at it.

Javier is a teacher that doesn't only teach the basics of salsa but how to really enjoy learning how to dance. I have been a student for three years and have been able to learn several styles including bachata, mambo on 2, Cha Cha Cha, pachanga and Afro Cuban. He keeps classes challenging and always inspires you to be at a higher level. Guaranteed to improve your social dancing!
