House At Pooh Corner

Day Care

For over thirty years, House at Pooh Corner has been nurturing children’s natural desire to learn by providing a healthy and stimulating environment in which we encourage them to flourish through exploration and discovery. Accommodating children from three months to six years of age, we respect individual development at all stages, recognizing the unique contribution each child adds to the group dynamic and emphasizing the importance of age-appropriate play as a means of self-expression and conflict resolution.

Our programs are tailored to respect and accommodate the emotional, intellectual and physical well being of each child, rather than sorting them solely by chronological age. In light of this, our groupings of the children are purposely somewhat fluid and all groups are multi-age – an ideal way for children to develop important social skills.nfant/Toddler, 3 months – 2 1/2 years; Transition, 18 months –3 years; Pre-School 2 ½ to 4 years and Pre-K 3 ½ - 6 years Read more

Best. Place. Ever. #handsdown Pooh Corner is amazing.

My son has been at Pooh since he was 3 months old and I feel beyond lucky to be part of this community. At the time of this post, he's now 3 years old and in preschool.

... Pooh Corner has a well developed program to bring new families and current families together.

We have had a really positive experience and if you're looking, hope you join the community and find the same.

Pooh Corner is truly a wonderful place for a child to grow and thrive. It feels more like a close-knit community than a daycare. My two sons have been there for just under a year and we have been thrilled with the care and instruction they've received.

... The result is that in additional to being smart, the kids are curious, self-motivated, empathetic, and they appreciate nature, science, the arts, humor, and culture.

We have been lucky to be part of the Pooh Corner community for three years now and would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a daycare/preschool/pre-k for their child. Our son is currently in Preschool and is moving on to Pre-K this year.

... Pooh uses the Reggio-Emilia approach, which emphasizes experiential learning rather than a strict curriculum. For example, in Preschool the children pick a subject in which they would like to learn more.

... The environment is warm and relaxed; yet their schedule and structure gives a well-balanced day. There are special programs throughout the year such as music classes partnered with Settlement Music School, science through gardening, and movement through dance. It's truly exceptional!
