  Tamara is a wonderful landscape designer. Despite the size and the budget of the project, Tamara has managed to dramatically enhance and improve our garden. It was a pleasure to work with Tamara.

  Hawthorne Garden Design will transform your yard into a beautiful and aesthetically interesting garden space that showcases both plants and mixed stone materials in its creation. We worked with HDG to redo both our DC townhouse back and front yards. We had lots of requests and HDG came through on each one resulting in an inviting and aesthetic backyard garden and a very pleasing front garden.

  Meeting all of these desires, Tamara created a beautiful backyard garden with a winding flagstone path that separates two elliptical brick patios, a smaller one for a full-sized sofa covered by the arbor, which was widened with extra wood. Coral honeysuckle is starting to grow up over the arbor creating a cozy garden nook. The open bike shed is disguised at the back of the yard to match the new cedar fence. A teak table with eight chairs occupies the other patio. Brick stairs off the patio lead to a grill that sits against the house and a back stairway. There are five lovely, distinct garden areas around the patios, integrated by hidden hosing for automatic drip irrigation. We love it and so does everyone who has seen it. In fact, our neighbors have asked that HDG make the same configuration in their yard. If only we could work with Tamara on our new house addition!

  Hawthorne Garden Design has transformed my outdoors into the most beautiful part of my home. Not only can I see different plants and flowers bloom as the seasons go by, from the inside through the windows; but every part of the outside has become an active living area where we cook, where we eat, where we entertain, play and lounge. We got the most professional service from Tamara, who listened to what we wanted to do and gave us better ideas and executed on them. Timely, always with a smile and most incredibly professional service.

  I worked with Hawthorne Garden Design on my outdoor patio and built-in kitchen area. I got quotes from other sources, but I preferred the client-orientation of the owner and her ability to problem-solve on site the most convincing. HGD designed my backyard and transformed it to the new outdoor hangout for my family and friends. She also quickly installed the plantings once the patio and kitchen area were completed. The finished product is beautiful and I would contract with this company again to help me with other areas of my garden.

  The owner, Tamara Belt, has a great aesthetic and found the perfect decorative trees (Japanese Maple, red bud, & flowering cherry tree) for my garden space and budget! The accompanying plantings look great and have been super healthy. HGD also helped me with hardscaping (a bluestone patio and walkway), an outdoor lighting plan and bi-annual garden maintenance and pruning.
  
  As a small business owner of a productive real estate firm, I understand the importance of great service. When clients need landscaping help, Hawthorne Garden Design is my go-to recommendation for projects both large and small. I know HGD will provide my referrals with excellent service, cost effective solutions and top notch designs.
