Green and Blue Studio

Bridal Salon

We are Daniela Cerman and Michaela Schwartz, two Czech republic natives who met fifteen years ago in Washington DC. Daniela has a fashion degree from Le Grand Chic Institute in Bologna, Italy, where she studied and gained incredible sewing and couture making skills. Michaela has a business degree and a passion for all things fashion. Together, we decided to combine our talents a create a fashion company.

We started Green and Blue Studio in 2005 out of love for fashion, creativity and with a desire to bring some of the European flair we grew up with to Washington. We opened a boutique for women to find chic and classy wearable designs and accessories, where we offered our own clothing line, jewelery and accessories as well as as custom designs to our clients. Green and Blue did a wonderful job on my dress! It was a few sizes too big when ordered due to my measurements. It took a few more fittings than expected to fix it but they did not let me leave with my dress until it was perfect. Their commitment to quality work and detail oriented nature shone through in how they worked with my dress. It was an obvious challenge to take in a backless dress. Daniela was also experienced and personable. She kept me assured it would all work out in the end, which it did. I highly recommend Green and Blue for your wedding dress alterations. It is your wedding dress; it is worth the cost knowing you are in safe hands.

My wedding dress was altered here and everything was done in time and done to my expectations. The bottom portion of my dress is a very light delicate chiffon material. I had decided to get my dress bustled (although looking back I didn't need this and probably could have saved myself some $$). Anyways, I was worried about the bustling due to the fabric but when I saw it - it was barely noticeable! The top of my dress fit me perfect. The service I have received here has been great. All the ladies that have helped me have been so kind and the pricing is also very up front. They were quick and to the point during appointments, which I love. They've also been very accommodating with my appointment times and fitting me in during odd and often rushed times.

I took my wedding dress here for alterations! It was very expensive (around ~$850 for all the work I needed) but they did a 5 star job. Daniela was fantastic and everything came out perfect and on time.

I worked with Daniela and the team on transforming my mother's wedding dress into my own dream dress. This involved taking a Laura Ashley cotton batiste gown circa 1982 and making it look fresh, classic, preppy and romantic for a yacht club wedding.

Luckily, my mom had surprisingly classic taste for the 80's and I loved everything from the waist down. That said, the dress was at least one size too small for me and one inch to short. Also, I hated the simple top and obviously hated the 80's style puffy sleeves. ...
