Freed Bodyworks

Massage Therapist

Freed Bodyworks embraces the many ways that people's bodies are non-conforming: gender identity, body modification, weight, culture, sub-culture, race, employment, ability, illness, age, and more. Our bodyworkers, energy workers, counselors, and instructors understand the barriers of judgment that have kept many people out of healthcare and healing practices of all types. We practice radical inclusion - all are welcome in our space. Read more

I NEVER leave reviews, good or bad, but I absolutely have to this time. Aries is the bomb!

I've been having back and body pain for years because I played a lot of sports, then had surgery and have imbalances everywhere. Aries completely listened to what I was saying and truly problem solved to give me the most relieving and relaxing therapeutic massage. I almost don't want to leave this review so that other people can't snatch her up but giving support to people who do a phenomenal job is more important than my selfishness here!

My only gripe is that I'm not super rich and able to go whenever I want! I've already told 3 people about her because she was that awesome! Highly recommend!!

I went here about a month back, Aviva worked on me. I was having bad back pain due to stress and probably pulling the dog around. She was very cool and wanted the message to be what I wanted it to be. The only thing with that was I never had a massage before so I didn't know what I wanted it to be, lol. But the fact that she took the time to do that was great. Massage itself felt a bit rough but the reason I didn't say anything is I could definitely handle it and I needed my back to feel better. And, YES, the intended purpose was achieved, my back felt much much better and after two days of rest and recuperation I was back to normal.

Pricing was pretty fair compared to the massage I got on Carnival last week. Next time if I ever went back I would get a much lighter massage since it would be more of a calmness thing rather than back pain easing.

Overall great and do recommend if needed.

The first time I walked into Freed, I knew I was home. DC has so many different kinds of energy--and some of it can be hard to navigate. It has meant everything to me to have this oasis in the midst of it all. Over the years, I've gotten to know many of the practitioners, and continue to be impressed by their warmth, depth of knowledge, and willingness to hold space for their community. Freed Bodyworks takes its mission of radical inclusivity very seriously--the world would be a better place if more spaces like it existed. I recommend it without hesitation and with so much love.

This place is AMAZING. I've worked with Elizabeth and Kelly, and each of them are fantastic massage therapists. Freed has a very client-centered approach; they work with you to create a targeted plan for your session. This is the perfect place if you're looking to really work on some knots or relieve tension. I always feel empowered to tell them exactly what I need and want, and they are so, so good at creating the experience to match.

I have had great experiences at Freed for massages. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. I highly recommend both Elizabeth and Emily. I haven't worked with any of the other therapists but I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try.
