James Irwin is a U.S. ARMY Gulf War veteran who studied engineering at the University of Texas. He started his first construction company at 17, and even then, his insistence upon precision and his attention to the details of every project was evident. James designs and provides a structural analysis and engineered plans as well as supervises every project personally to ensure the quality of workmanship that he requires is never compromised. His goal is to ensure that every project meets its full potential and his high expectations for quality and correctness. He is more likely to be found on a job site than in his office. Read more
James charges $75 to come for a 1.5 to 2 hour consultation. When speaking to him on the phone for the first time, I knew this guy is intense, knows what he's talking about, and doesn't want to waste his time or mine. The $75 was MORE THAN WORTH IT! He wanted to understand our remodel from the interior out, in order to discuss lines of site from our front door out to our outside project which he would be working on. ... That is a PRICELESS approach! James can see the forest for the trees and if you won't pay $75 for his time (which is being taken away from other projects), you're probably not serious enough about your project for him to come out yet. But when you are, you'll be impressed! I will update this review if we hire him...don't know why we wouldn't, but we are going to interview a couple other contractors just for due diligence.Original recommendation
I meant to post this sooner but you know, life :) The short of it is that James and his guys are amazing. He was one of the few contractors we've worked with that actually showed up on time and took great care in their work. Any issues, he was on it. Always showed up to check on things and always made sure we were happy. Every construction project has it's issues but his expertise and attention to detail not only minimized the issues to less than a handful but immediately addressed them as they came up. We will absolutely be working with James again in the future and simply can't say enough good things about James and Everything Outdoors.Original recommendation
... He's honest (TELLS you to get 2 other quotes - who else does that?), he makes you feel comfortable throughout the process and is incredibly patient when you change your mind on details. He was regularly in contact with us and never have I had better communication with a contractor - and you won't either! I cannot possibly tell you what an amazing man James is, with an outstanding work ethic, a huge heart for helping others, and a humble patriot and veteran that served our country. We LOVE our new tongue & groove ceiling and rock covered patio and could not be happier with our choice of Everything Outdoors. (also does fantastic cement/concrete work and had extra so extended our driveway) $50 worth EVERY cent - make him one of your quotes and thank me later.Original recommendation
We hired them to do our extended covered patio project last year and they did an amazing job! Highly recommend!Original recommendation
Everything Outdoors did Everything Absolutely Excellent!!!Original recommendation
... All three had good ideas and similar priced bids but James had some really great ideas to give our project much more custom look. He actually had the best price as well! The work went according to schedule and right on the estimate price despite having to deal with some on-the-fly changes. The crew was exceptional, the work looks fantastic, the estimate was priced lower and the quality is much higher than we were expecting. James was on top of the project the whole time and at the job site every day to make sure everything went according to plan and it did. Everything Outdoors Knocked it Out of the Park! ... We are thrilled with our new patio and we're eager to start phase 2 of the outdoor kitchen in the spring. Of Course, we'll be using Everything Outdoors again.
