He bought his first vinyl turntables (Gemini, he was broke at the time) and began mixing house music in his bedroom just like any other DJ. He started off with the name Dj Probe, but after being told from another DJ that the name Probe had been taken by another DJ in Chicago, he decided to change his name. The name “Persist” comes from persistent, a name that was given by his fraternity who had seen the character in his work ethic.

DJ Persist was incredible!!!!! His attention to detail was impeccable. He checked in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was going as we wanted it to go. All of the guests at our wedding had an amazing time due to the variety of music that DJ Persist played. He is also very organized which helped out a lot especially when planning a wedding. Best DJ ever!!!!! If you want your party to be a blast, book him! You won't regret it.

DJ Persist was truly incredible! The one main thing I wanted for my wedding was to have everyone dancing and enjoying themselves, DJ Persist made that happen! Empty chairs everywhere and one full dance floor. He knew what to play and how to keep our wedding organized at the same time. Definitely will be booking him for our next big event!

He even helped us organize cake cutting and instructed the catering company to buss the tables, as our catering company was not prepared and not on top of their game. Without Jesse managing the night our wedding would not have gone as smoothly. He checked in with us constantly on the program, and any concerns we had he was right there with his help.
