I was referred to Dr. Nelson by my regular dermatologist after finding melanoma. Naturally, I was very nervous; however, Dr. Nelson and his team worked to ensure my comfort from my first visit. For me, comfort (especially at a doctor's office) requires as much knowledge as possible. Throughout the two months I regularly needed to visit Dr. Nelson's office, he consistently provided me with concise information regarding my diagnosis, surgery, and healing process. Dr Nelson and his staff were compassionate and caring. He is very to the point and I appreciated that very much. He knows exactly what he is doing and is careful to explain it to both the patient and the caregiver. He is a very, very skillful surgeon. Both my husband and I have been to him, me for multiple skin cancers on my face, my husband for a melanoma. I had a very deep basal cell cancer on my chin, he was so skillful at the surgery you can't even see the scar at all. I would not go to anyone else. We were seen within four days of my calling for an appointment. The staff was extremely nice and made us comfortable and confident of the care we were getting. I appreciated him and his staff very much and would highly recommend him to anyone. ...

My husband and I are blessed to have Dr. Nelson as our doctor. Dr. Nelson is compassionate and very caring. He takes time with his patients to explain the diagnosis and treatment in a way that can be easily be understood. He is straight forward and thorough in a positive way.

Dr. Nelson is such a good doctor that I am truly astonished to see these poor reviews of him. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. He did my surgery calmly, efficiently and professionally, quickly...and in a very relaxed and caring manner. He really knows what he's doing and isn't that the main thing to ask of a doctor? His staff were nothing but friendly and helpful. I had no pain and a great result. What more could anyone ask? Yes, he's a character, but someone in need of medical help ought to be concentrating on the results, the outcome, not on petty personality conflicts. ...

I strongly feel people are more apt to write a bad review when they have a bad experience versus when they are a happy patient. Dr Nelson does not deserve this. This is the reason for my review. It is really hard to find a good doctor. If you are looking for a Doctor who comes in, has the personality of a robot, and runs through the motions without any conversation then he is not for you. ...
