I was reluctant for a long time to pay someone to do the landscaping in my yard because I figured if I weren't being lazy I could do it myself. ... James was upfront about costs and worked with me to prioritize what I wanted to meet my budget. Louis and his crew did an amazing dig out of a hill of ficus tree roots and turned it into a firepit area. The crew was there each day moving the job along quickly and it was finished within the time James had promised me. I changed a few things during the construction phase and both James and Louis were great about accommodating me and making sure I was satisfied with the end result. Definitely one of the best decisions I made as now I can relax in my yard with friends and family and enjoy San Diego as it is meant to be!

What I liked most about working with the Deep Rooted Design crew was their desire to make sure we were satisfied with the end result. As with any project, you have things that come up that change and evolve as the project is underway. ... It's also important to me that as hard as these guys work on demolition, laying a flagstone patio and pathway, spreading crushed rock etc. they seem to be treated well by management. I know this comes from good leadership, and James gives the impression that he cares. His project coordinator, Luis, is also someone who is trustworthy, and dependable. If I ever had a concern or question, he always responded in a timely manner, and I felt like I could count on him to make sure things got done.

These guys are masters of their craft. James came to our home for a consult and was very open and honest about how they work, the style of their work, and what scope of projects they're best at. Despite their being our top pick, we didn't end up being able to work with them due to budgetary constraints at the time and even STILL, James came back our home after he knew this and graciously helped talk through what we could do within our budget and even offered up his ideas knowing we may end up doing the work ourselves. They put a personal care and touch into their work and show a personal side to business that isn't often found. I can't recommend these guys enough.

I am continuously impressed with the work from James and the rest of the gang at DRD. They absolutely crush it....Meaning they know how to work with their clients in understanding exactly what the outcome or function of the landscape should look and feel like. Incredible work and extremely reasonable costs for how much and how quickly things get done. It's great to have such a trusted and reliable resource in DRD.
