He's also enjoying his longtime coaching association with the Mountain View Little League where all of his children have played baseball for years. Ever the romantic on weekends, David and his wife may hit the winding country roads of the wine country in his or her Porsche as he tests his own road-handling handling skills.
When not at the shop, David travels the country as a crew member for a few different racing teams. Competing in the Le Mans Series, David is able to take his racing knowledge and apply it to his clients’ autos, for enhanced performance and handling. Read more

... I researched for a porsche repair specialist and found Modderman. I found the large service repair garage reassuring because clearly, they were porsche specialists. Dave took 30 minutes to diagnose, test drive the TPM and was able to reset the TPM into learning mode. He said that should do the trick but if it doesnt, the repair cost would be $800 (not 1400). I drove it around for awhile and the sensors resynced with the TPM after 15 miles. So this is a huge shoutout to Dave who clearly loves Porsches, took the time to help me and then saved me $1400. He's earned my trust for all future repairs.

I take my 2001 Boxster and 2004 Cayenne S to Modderman. I trust Dave. He seems to genuinely love Porsches like I do. He took the business over from his father and uncle; now his son is around the shop.

Dave knows these cars very well. I recently took my Cayenne in for servicing, and he recognized a little-documented but common problem (tranny oil in the transfer case). Between fixing that and a typical oil & filters, the car is way way smoother than when I took it in. -

I own a '89 944 NA with 150K miles on it and when it came time to replace the clutch I knew I could trust Dave and his crew. They previously replaced the water pump and timing belt and had me back on the road in no time. In the 3 years I have been in the Bay Area they have always taken great care of my car. If you value your Porsche then you are in good hands with Modderman Services, I have the receipts to prove it.

First time customer at Modderman. I needed ac work and many shops won't touch my car. After calling around a few places, I decided Modderman was the best choice. I was right in coming here.

They called me to update on the progress and provided a dead on estimate. No up sell and no pressure. Many shops will tell you your car will blow up if you do this and that. Not here.
Steve and Dave Modderman were very pleasant. They are also located 10-15 walk from Caltrains station at San Antonio. This makes drop off and pickup fairly easy. -

Dave is my goto guy for my Porsche Cayman S. He's friendly and yet great at what he's doing. Last time he even replaced my broken light bulbs for free when he fixed my TPS. Fast turn around and you know he would take care of your car. Highly recommended!
