Dance Institute is "a gem, not a gym" tucked away at the corner of 2222 and Riverplace Blvd., just west of the Capital of Texas Highway / Loop 360. It began as a Ballroom studio for adults, a Ballet Academy for children and teens, and an Adult Fitness program. It expanded in Summer 2009 to include the now award-winning Dance Institute Performance Academy for bright and energetic young dancers to compete on state, regional and national levels, and expanded once again in early 2010 to include the Triple Threat Academy which grew and developed the singing, acting, and dancing talents of people of all ages. Dance Institute is also known for attracting some of the biggest dance talents and instructors in the world such as Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and choreographer Sonya Tayeh of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance?" Hands down the best training you will find! The Instructors and Director go above and beyond to make sure our dancers are receiving the best training and technique in every genre. They are truly invested in these dancers and provide amazing opportunities to pursue and nurture their love of dance and develop an excellent work ethic. My only hesitation... I wish we had come sooner!

I have been attending the adult Ballroom class on Tuesday nights. The professional Instructor, Denis Generalov, is very skilled and knowledgeable in International Standard Ballroom technique (and also Standard Latin). He is also fluent in both English and Russian. Denis is the best Professional Ballroom dancer in the Austin area and his classes are intended for those with some Dancesport experience, skills, and who are reasonably fit. Many of his students compete and perform in showcase events (amateur and pro-am). Denis also coaches many of the other professional dancers in the area and teaches workshops on specific dances. In addition to being a skilled dancer, Denis has the ability clearly convey the information to his students and he has the patients help them learn these techniques.

Now, a year later, she is a completely different performer, with such improved technique and confidence that even her grandparents have noticed! We're grateful to the amazing faculty at DI and can't wait to see what this next year brings!

My daughter and I are so happy to be part of the team at Dance Institute. The level of instruction is by far the best in central Austin! The support we have received from the staff, the moms and the dancers is incredible. Everyone works together to help this team compete at its best. My daughter has been at DI for 4 months now and feels inspired and empowered to push herself and continue to grow each day. We are thrilled to call Dance Institute our new home!
