Dance 101

Dance Teacher

Being the first studio of it’s kind in the country, dance 101 forever changed the landscape of dance by making it accessible to the public at large - in a way that it had never been available before. Nowhere other than at dance 101 could an adult non-dancer just walk in and experience the thrill of dancing choreography or step up to the ballet barre for the first time.

The brainchild of Ofelia de La Valette, herself an adult beginner dancer, dance 101’s strongest values are Inclusion, Possibility and Rapture. We welcome anyone and everyone who wants to dance, we offer opportunities to learn and do what otherwise was thought impossible and we wish, hope and desire that all of our students experience the intense joy that comes from dancing. Dance 101 is a really special place where Adults (18+) can awaken the dancer within or recapture the dancer they thought they had left behind in childhood. Read more

Love love love that there is a leaps, turns and kicks class for adults. I wish it was an hour and a half. Have not been able to take one since the last time I was in New York. Great space and energy. The $25 drop in rate is a bit steep compared to other studios I have trained at but buying a package worked well for me. Can't wait to come back!

Even though I moved to Florida for 4 years ago, I make it a point to visit Dance101 each time I visit Atlanta. The teachers, variety of classes and studios are awesome! The only disappointment is the cost increase over the years. However, not its not enough to discourage me since its one of the places I must visit during my trips to the area. I so wish Tampa / St Pete had this!

I have been saying for months that I wanted to check this place out and once I did I have been telling everyone I know how amazing it is. This studio has a variety of classes for all experience levels and multiple class times throughout the day that works with my busy schedule. I highly recommend the Fuego! class for a Latin beat or the Hip Hop fit class to have fun while you sweat.

I've lived in Atlanta for four years, and I'm disappointed that I'm only just now discovering Dance 101! This is by far my favorite place in town to work out. I have no dance experience, but I don't feel out of place here. There are classes for all skill levels. The teachers and staff are friendly and helpful. The classes are so much fun that you hardly feel like you are exercising. They offer a wide variety of classes, so you can diversify your workout throughout the week. I highly recommend everyone give it a try!

My favorite classes are Bollywood, Ballet Barre, and Hip Hop.

Took my 5th class at Dance 101 tonight. From The Ground Up with Luke, Raise the Barre and Contemporary Ballet, Serpentine Belly Dance with Erin and Contemporary with Katrina were all amazing! No matter what level you are this a wonderful studio, coming from a fellow dance instructor! Recommend any of these to anyone looking to get a great work out and have a good time.
