This place is phenom! From the instructors to the wide array of classes offered to the beauty of the space itself--I love it!Original recommendation
Culture Shakti offers classes in a variety of styles including Bhangra, ATS, flamenco, and more. Their payment options (class passes) are a great deal, and the classes are structured to drop in at any point during a six-week session, which works well with a busy lifestyle. Check out their "New Student" two-week unlimited class pass for $25.
New to the discipline and find yourself suddenly coveting a beautiful tribal style 25-yard skirt? Yeah, they got that too, plus some bangles and bindis to complete the look.
Wonderful space, convenient location & schedule, great people...Culture Shakti couldn't be better!
In this day and age of shameful political rhetoric which blatantly embraces racism, misogyny, body shaming, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, etc., Culture Shakti is a welcoming sanctuary for dance arts and fitness rooted in the strengths of diversity and multi-culturalism, traditions, fusions, and evolutions. It's a non-judgmental safe space for body-acceptance, a welcoming environment for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and a spring board for those who wish to take a deep dive into various world dance forms.Original recommendation
Access to so many different dance styles under one roof was nearly impossible to find in Seattle until not so many years ago. Katrina Ji has put her blood, sweat, and hard work into making Culture Shakti Studio a reality. It's one of the few studios with a vibrant and constantly revolving roster of nationally and internationally recognized guest workshop instructors, musicians, and artists.
Katrina Ji and her studio, Culture Shakti, are extremely professional and conduct themselves with enormous cultural sensitivity. Offering a variety of dance styles, there is no limit to Katrina's knowledge base and skills as both a performer and instructor. To top it off, the amount of give back and community involvement Katrina involves herself in is moving. Always generous, Katrina promotes enrichment of others over profit by offering solutions to persons who otherwise could not afford to participate. Simply stated, there is not another studio in Seattle I'd rather give my business to. Thank you, Katrina & Culture Shakti!Original recommendation

My son thoroughly enjoyed taking Bollywood classes with Katrina for many years. She is supportive, kind, professional and an amazing dancer. He really matured as a dancer under her tutelage and had lots of fun doing so. In addition to taking classes at Culture Shakti, he was also in her classes at a homeschool program so I have had an opportunity to see Katrina work with dozens of youth and adults of many skill levels and backgrounds. She is always brings out the best in her students in a positive and empowering way. We also appreciate how she is both an active leader in the local Bollywood community and a passionate and knowledgable bridge between international groups. Thank you for everything, Katrina!Original recommendation
I am dancing with Culture Shakti for a month and already have few awesome moments. Culture Shakti teaches various types of dance to their own perfections. They are creative with their own steps and methods to remember those steps. I personally have interacted with Katrina and love dancing with her.Original recommendation
