We founded Coast Pediatrics Del Mar, and now Carmel Valley, in response to increasing demand from parents for an alternative to the status quo. We share your frustration with long wait times and visits with multiple different providers who may not know your child well. As insurance payments shrink and administrative costs rise, medical groups struggle to remain viable by squeezing more appointments into the same amount of time. Groups grow larger for cost sharing purposes, leading to difficulty in seeing the same doctor at your visits. With the lowest insurance reimbursements rates among all specialties, pediatricians are often the last to be able to embrace new technology. Read more

Dr Angelo Del Re is the best!! … It has been over a year, and he still makes us feel like we are his only patient, patiently answers our 1 million questions (two or three times), remembers every detail about our daughter's care, always positive and upbeat, shares insights and knowledge. Additionally, being dual working parents we truly appreciate the office's respect for our time - we able to get an appointment and\or a discussion with him or his partners with-in hours. We have yet to wait in the waiting room - the office is well orchestrated. ... Oh and they share samples - which sounds silly - but a nice bonus so very helpful when you can frustrate your child and spend hundreds trying to find the right formula, diaper cream, sunscreen, etc. Thank you Dr Del Re for all you do!!

We have seen all the Drs here and they are all excellent. We are with Dr De Rey and he is incredibly caring & great with my kids. We changed pediatricians a couple times before finally finding this place. Worth the admin fee in my opinion. Never a hassle to get in or get a hold of a Dr when needed. They really take their time with us. The nurses and admin staff are all kind & efficient.

What has most impressed me is that they're very patient-oriented. … Dr. Del Re always makes sure to explain the other options and the associated risks/rewards, but he's incredibly good about offering his advice when prompted. In addition, they're never late, and you're never rushed. …
In addition to Dr. Del Re, the rest of the staff is helpful, friendly, and confident. I can't think of a single critical thing to say about the practice.
Oh, and they're pro-vaccine. Per their website, they will allow patients to delay/avoid vaccination, but a quick gander at their "Immunization" section on their website makes their stance crystal clear. Yay for science! Boo for preventable disease. -

I cannot rave about this office enough! I am a working mom- one day i had a sick baby. Carmen saved me! She helped me Scape diapers so we could get the appropriate fecal samples to confirm my babies health. As a new mom, I was terrified because I had just gotten food poisoning but I also had a lot on my plate with my own business! This office always takes the time to make us feel loved. Expect a totally different level of service. We use DR. Del Ray and could not be happier with him.

Dr. Wood knows what she's doing and clearly loves her babies. As first time parents that need that extra touch and knowledge, she was/is the perfect pediatrician. The staff is also super knowledgable and makes you feel like you are the only patient in the whole practice.
