  Like I imagine most people who find themselves grappling with the agonizing prospect of filing a bankruptcy, I was processing a wide range of emotions including fear, shame, despair, and a sense of failure. My case had a high degree of complexity and I did not believe there would be a legal remedy to my circumstances. My situation involved the operation and ownership of an otherwise successful small business combined with a higher than average personal income. I made an appointment with Clarke to discuss my options regarding what I had come to recognize as insurmountable and crushing personal and business debts. From the moment I phoned his office to make an appointment I was treated with respect, dignity, and professionalism; to my surprise no one judged me.   I owned and operated a successful small business and had a higher than average personal income. Life's circumstances over time had created a situation in which I found myself dealing with insurmountable business and personal debts. Clarke's compassionate, professional, and personable team treated me with dignity and were reassuring that a legal remedy to my circumstances may be possible. Clarke's expertise and experience in the business and personal debt aspects of bankruptcy law resulted in a successful discharge of a large sum under Chapter 7.   We hired Clarke Balcom initially to negotiate an IRS payment plan. In addition to that, we were refunded state funds due to some penalties and interest being waived after Clarke, and staff, drafted the request to have those funds returned to us. We were successful in getting some money back!
