Chris Michels Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist

Haven't had success with traditional therapies? Then find out about Counterstrain and experience the difference!!!

Not all physical therapy is created equal. For some patients, the letters P.T. stand for “Pain and Torture” or “Physical Terrorist” which depict the idea that pain must be inflicted in order to get better again.

I don’t believe in excessive stretching, beating up on tight muscles, or prescribing nonspecific ineffective exercises. I believe P.T. stands for Personalized Therapy. Each person gets a personalized approach that is unique to their situation and addresses dysfunctions that have accumulated over the years or from a recent injury. Read more

Chris helped me get out of pain VERY quickly when doctors couldn't help. Following a surgery last November, I woke up with annoying nerve pain down the back and front of my arm that intensified. My surgeon gave me a really strong nerve drug that didn't help but made me feel dizzy. :/ Chiropractic and acupuncture ( my go-to remedies) weren't helping this situation so I was relieved when Chris's version of Counterstrain DID!

After the first session my nerve pain was reduced by 70% and after the second session it was GONE.

You can't beat that. Chris is very willing to explain to you what he is doing and what areas of your body are affected. His office is clean and chill, I could really relax.

My recommendation: Don't suffer with any condition, Call Chris!

I was fortunate to work with Chris at New Heights Therapy for a year where he helped me regain full range of motion with my injured arm using Strain Counterstrain. After a fall last July, Chris worked with my knee so I could walk again almost right away. I saw Chris a few months ago for a tune-up at his new clinic. He keeps evolving in his expertise to deal with the fascia using Counter Strain. Last Sunday I went to his Hollywood clinic for a lower back injury. I kept waiting for him to get to the back. He was working from the head (headquarters) to determine where blockages existed. The results of that session with Chris have been phenomenal. A little sore for 2 days than, no more discomfort and full use of back muscles. I immediately canceled all my chiropractic appointments.

I've seen Chris several times now and referred others to him as well. He's a kind and caring person, and his work on me has been quite transformative. The Strain-Counterstrain technique is extremely effective and really reduces pain in my experience. And I know when we're inflamed from pain, we don't heal. I can't take most pain meds so I really need something like this to support relief and healing. Highly recommended.
