Chicago Bodywork

Massage Therapist

89% of massage therapists do Swedish massage (also known as "spa massage", "frou frou massage", "a back rub", etc). Chicago Bodywork is for those people seeking the other 11%. My job is to get you results in as few sessions as possible - not to see you ten times a month and take all your money. If I am unable to help you or I'm not the best fit, my job is, to be honest, and tell you so. Depending on your situation, if the medical professional you are seeing is not getting you significant results within 6 sessions - why keep paying them? Why waste your time and money? If I'm not getting better results than another practitioner within 4 sessions, then it is your right, and obligation to yourself, to see someone who can help you better than me. If you want a nice relaxing massage or someone to financially exploit you, there are plenty of options for that in Chicago - and the fact that some accept your insurance does not mean they will not financially exploit you. If you want your massage therapist to actually fix you, come see Rachael. She's all business and good at what she does. This is the only legitimate therapeutic massage service in Chicago that I am aware of. You will be sore the next day and it will 100% be worth it. Make sure you listen about wearing gym clothes as this is a fully clothed massage. The one session I had with Rachael was more effective than 10 with other therapists. If you have found this review and are questioning about booking, do it.

Went for the first time specifically because of the reviews and the focus described on the website. I had a soreness in my shoulder that I was looking to address. Rachael was very knowledgeable and helpful. She focused on fixing the problem, not setting you up as a regular client. I would highly recommend if you are looking for help with an issue, not a spa massage. Her space was clean and relaxing. The parking and access is convenient and easy.

I went here for a therapeutic injury massage, to address a flare up of a long term issue in my quads. Rachel was great. She worked to find the points that were creating tension and stress in my leg, and I have felt wholly better these last few days. ...
This is an excellent place for sports and injury massages. Rachel's goal is to get you well, and she will even give you tips on what to do on your own. They also have a Thai massage, acupuncture, and a small cross-fit style gym. I'd highly recommend, and intend to go back if I have another flare up.

I have suffered with back issues for over 20 years and was referred to Rachael by a close friend after a recent spasm that left me immobile for a couple of hours and then sore for a couple of weeks. Rachael has pinpointed my back issues like no one ever has in the past (doctors, chiropractors and other massage therapists) not only to I feel better, she also has extensive knowledge on what exercises and stretches I need to do in order to correct the muscle imbalance in my hips, abdomen and glutes. I highly recommend Rachael and I am only sorry I didn't meet her years ago!

... I was even hinted injections by an orthopedic . But after coming here to see Rachel 6-7 times, I noticed a huge change and improvement in my back ! I am extremely happy with the results and can't say enough about Rachel's knowledge and skills. She personalizes the needs for each person's needs through trigger point massage and cupping (highly recommended), and self care.
I'm glad I found this place . It's clean, well equipped and spacious. I wish I can go often...
