My tattoo work is an attempt to apply the secrets of the masters, to use the same archetypal images; to learn the iconography of Japanese tattooing, or irezumi, as well as the design motifs of home. More rough than polished, I enjoy the stylized image and use color to complete the traditional tattoo look. It was originally the pure power of this style that drew me to it. Carl is not only an amazing tattoo artist, he has great stories and awesome music playing. So put your phone on silent leave the ear buds out and talk to him he will take you on a tattoo history ride. I know he has several clients but he will always remember you and ask how the family is. He males you feel like more then just a person getting a tattoo.

Had an amazing experience with Carl when he did my Hop flower. Love his style and artwork is amazing. I was recommended to him by a friend who also got work done by him and fell in love with his style. Plan on going back for more!! He's quick to respond to emails and he did this work after I sent some images of things I liked. He really helped guide me to something I would love after seeing a few drawings. Keep up the good work Carl!!!

I initially reached out to Carl back in April to set something up as I was going to be in Dallas (coming up from Austin) for the weekend. ... Carl is one of the most genuine tattoo artists, and persons, I've met. "Talented" would be an understatement. -

I got a coverup done by Carl at Elm Street and he did a great job! He freehanded the design and it turned out great. ... the shop was very clean, did the right sanitary procedures, and I never had to worry about whether it was safe. I was glad to be able to relax in that respect.

Last summer, while shopping, I saw a tattoo that was incredibly beautiful and had the cleanest lines I had seen in a long time. I asked where she got it and by whom....Carl Hallowell. ... I love my artwork!! I get compliments everywhere I go and share Carl's name with all and yes I am planning my next tattoo as I write. :-)
