Burbank Montessori

Day Care

Burbank Montessori Academy is the oldest Montessori school in Burbank, opening in 1983.

Montessori is a unique educational approach that nurtures a child’s intrinsic desire to learn. Montessori focuses on the whole child—his cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Within a classroom setting our goals are to help your child:

Develop independence through individual activities and caring for self and environment.

Develop initiative through the intelligent and free choice of activities.

Develop self-confidence from accomplishments in activities that challenge his/her capabilities.

Develop self-discipline through movement activities that absorb them in the work.

Develop self-esteem from being a part of a loving atmosphere.

Develop social awareness through participating in a group setting. Read more

Both of my girls went there through Kindergarten. Very happy with the facility, staff and the level of education and care each child receives.

I have read some of the negative reviews for this school and they are totally UNTRUE! My child has attended this school for the last year and i am so so thankful for every teacher and Ms Kit. As a single mother --day to day life is hard enough juggling a full time job, tons of driving, and raising a child. Knowing that my son is in their daily care and instruction is such a relief! They have helped my son advance in reading, writing, and math and hes not even in kinder yet :) I love anyone that makes education fun and motivates my son! ...

We checked out many schools, several of which were Montessori and knew right away we loved this place. The play yard is huge with big trees and lots of shade and dirt instead of hard pavement, my son is very active so this was a major plus. Inside, the teachers keep toys and play areas clean and organized all while letting them have their independent play as well. Of course there's learning, artwork and reading too (I got my first Mother's Day flower pot artwork - aww) and plenty of space for all of it. Miss Kit and Miss Mona are fabulous as well as all of the other teachers - love these ladies! Another thing we noticed is the children are well behaved too and play well together - that says a lot. Awesome, awesome school:)
