Boulder Sports Acupuncture

Acupuncturist

My name is Steven Rizzolo, owner & primary acupuncturist of Boulder Sports Acupuncture. In the city of Boulder, Colorado there are athletes who range from the enthusiastic weekend warrior to the world-class professional and every athlete in between.

No one can argue we live in an active city and as a result of being so active, on occasion, we do get injured. My goal is to serve the community. My specialty is pain management, sports-related injuries, sports performance and relief of stress & anxiety. While these are my specialties, I also treat a wide variety of other conditions. Stephan is the bomb! He has helped all my injuries over the last two years and has kept me in the ultrarunning game.

I have been going to various Acupuncturists on an as needed basis for over 30 years. When you find a good one, ( relief from the symptoms you are seeing them for), you stick with that person and in all fairness you have to give any new acupuncturist 2 tries before moving on. ... He is a keeper, not to mention his clinic looks more like a sports and rehab clinic with all the latest medical devices for injury rehab etc. Furthermore he takes some insurances, mine thankfully. I feel he is excellent and a really good guy / athlete as well.

I developed issues with my sciatic nerve, (or perhaps piriformis), this past year which was seriously inhibiting my ability to be active.....walking up stairs, hiking, exercising. I was treated by an MD who specializes in this area with zero results. Being active is so important to me, and it was depressing to be so limited. Fortunately, I found Dr. Steven Rizzolo. I had immediate relief after my first appointment!! After 5 or so appointments, I am close to being symptom-free. Dr. Rizzolo is one of the most talented, dedicated, intuitive and knowledgeable healers I have found. I am so grateful to have my body and mobility back, thanks to him. I wish Yelp had 100 star rating!!

The combination of Steve's acupuncture and Jeremy's massage (in just 3 visits!) took me from 90% likely to have hip surgery to 10 - 0% likely. I am also ready to resume my trail running regime. Their work verges on magic - if it wasn't obvious that they are so well trained and versed in their respective areas of expertise. I can not recommend these two enough. I am not prone to exaggeration, either. What a blessing they have been to me. If you are considering their services at all, do not hesitate.

I go here for massage therapy with Jeremy. I've been really impressed with the results after my rotator cuff surgery. I first arrived here after a sleepless week of tossing and turning in pain. He worked on the muscles around my shoulder but didn't touch the surgery site as I was only four weeks out. My arm had been in agony from being bent 90 degrees in a sling for a month. The hour he spent on my back, chest, and elbow made a huge difference and I had my first night of rest in what seemed like forever. ...
