Bikesmiths

Bike Mechanic

A local shop with local roots, Bikesmiths was founded in 1973 by Jeanne Smith who envisioned the shop as a corporate space where everyone would be working towards an ideal. Personal service has always ranked at the top at Bikesmiths: every employee is both an avid cyclist and a mechanic. By living and working with bicycles, we are uniquely equipped to help you choose the right bike, bring your current bike up to speed, or fix a flat tire, whether you are on your first bike or your twentieth. I’ve had my bike worked on at Bikesmiths. Great service and personable. I also bought the lights for my bike here.

They are one of Bloomington oldest and best old school bike shops. Their prices are great, and Adam the general manager has been there for for quite some time. He really knows his stuff and is able to help anyone, no matter their commitment to cycling.

Great customer service! I am very happy that I bought my bike at Bikesmiths. They give you a free tune up after ~30 days to make sure your new bike is riding smoothly. Even after I had my 30 day tune up I brought my bike in two more times and they helped me out. Overall I am very satisfied with my bike and how helpful the employees are. Highly recommended!

Got a rear tube replaced and brake adjusted. Guy quoted me $25 and it ended up being less. Helpful and knowledgeable people, highly recommend. The reviews with less than 5 stars seem to be dated.

This place is top notch . The service is quick, the professionals consult you on all of their repairs and the prices are fair! If you need to service your bike, need some help with a moving part, or need any new parts this is the place to go! Super helpful and honest!

Customer service went above and beyond when they replaced a part on my bike. They knew I was on a budget and offered to talk through options and ended up doing just the crucial fix to get me rolling again and saved me a lot of money in the process. They also did a great job on the work (with some extra tune-up bits thrown in that I'm super grateful for) and now I feel like I'm flying down the road! Solid folks; keeps me coming back.

A-plus establishment. Everyone is very polite and knowledgeable. I want to particularly mention the mechanic that helped me with a flat. (I didn't get his name but he was working this morning around 10:30.) He was very personable and helpful and didn't make me feel like an idiot for missing the giant thorn in my tire when I'd changed the flat the day before. Anyway, great shop, keep up the good work!
