Sharing our cycling passion is a tradition that began with Hill Abell and Laura Agnew in 1985 when they bought a small bike shop on Barton Springs Road in South Austin. The little shop was one of only a handful of stores in Texas that sold mountain bikes. What Hill and Laura lacked in business experience they made up for in sheer exuberance for riding. Read more

The team over at Bicycle Sport Shop is passionate about what they do. I was looking for a 2018 model that was not yet released, so they went the extra mile to track one down and notify me when it was made available. When I got there, they made sure it was set up perfectly and even changed out some parts to make the bike road ready. These guys and gals definitely care about the community. Shout out to James and Carl fro the S. Lamar location!

The staff here all know their stuff. They aren't always looking to upsell everything and when you tell them your goal (even if it's to keep things as cheap as possible) they work with you on it. Mitchell has taken wonderful care of me every time I've visited the repairs counter and they'll even invite you back to learn if you ask how to do something.

Can't say enough great things about Bicycle Sport Shop! A running injury forced me to find something else for exercise and since I haven't been on a bike for 30 years, I was a little anxious about buying one.

... Bicycle Sport Shop has a large selection of bikes (including refurbished bikes) and has open areas where they fit bikes to the rider and fix bikes as well. Great staff and customer service, no pressure to buy and a large selection of bikes for people riding at all levels- highly recommend Bicycle Sport Shop on S. Lamar.
