Bicycle Gallery

Bike Shop

From a one location family shop of the oil-crisis fueled bike-boom of the 1970s to the multi-store, multi-generation Portland-area staple of today, Bike Gallery continues to be a family-owned company that strives to make a sustainable impact on the communities we serve by putting more people on the bike more often.

Bike Gallery was founded by Portland bike legend Bob Graves in 1974 and passed to his son Jay in 1995. Upon announcing his retirement in 2012, Jay hand-picked new owners who would continue the Graves legacy of customer service and dedication to the Portland community. Kelly Aicher, a 16-year Bike Gallery employee, partnered with Mike Olson, a successful bicycle shop owner in San Diego, to purchase the business from Jay. Kelly’s intimate knowledge of the Portland cycling and community Mike’s vast retail experience are a great combination and we look forward to another successful 40 years. Read more

The service department at the Sandy Boulevard Bicycle Gallery has supported me repeatedly, expertly and efficiently for the past eight years. They have been thoroughly professional each and every time I've drug my bicycle into the shop with one malady or another. They never make fun of my incompetency, always teach me something new, and always fix the problem...in the most economical fashion at their disposal. On top of that, they always have it fixed and send me a text when they're done, while I have a cup of coffee at an excellent shop on the end of their block. In all of the shops before Bicycle Gallery, at least 75% of my visits would result in leaving the bike over night...and several would have taken multiple days.

I have learned so much about my bicycles and general riding from the folks at Gallery Bicycles that I chose to do all of my business at that location even though it's a 47 mile round trip from my house in Vancouver. It's well worth it for the service and support that they continually offer.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Tschirgi

I get all my maintenance i wont do myself done at the 82nd location. They fixed my bottom bracket issue and instead of charging me for the five minutes of work, they sent me on my way free of charge. They have pointed me in the right direction to have new wheels built. They always answer questions when i ask, even the odd ones (about getting wheels built, and about getting a loan from my credit union to get a new bike) they had assembled my new caad12 perfectly. And offered a service when its broken in. Will always go here for help or bikes.

My husband and I just bought bikes at the 82nd St location. Jason was wonderful. He took the time to answer all of our questions and to perfectly fit our bikes. We will definitely be going back to him for all of our cycling needs.

I'd been in before and the staff was very helpful and friendly; that did not change when I came in with some emergency "grinding" in my drivetrain. Without going into too much detail, my bike will get me through some more Pedalpalooza before I (inevitably and soon) invest in some new parts, I've new pads in my helmet, and bought a long-overdue rear blinker. ...

Really awesome service. I came in knowing what I wanted but the bike was to small. They explained all about road bikes and how they are supposed to fit and got me set up in the Lexa 2 with all the gear. Shawn at Beaverton location was so great explaining everything and making sure my bike was perfect before I took it home! Thanks Bike Gallery Beaverton!
