Located in southwest Houston, Beechnut Animal Clinic is proud to have provided state of the art veterinary medical care for the past 40 years.
Whether you visit us for a routine wellness examination and vaccinations, a serious health issue, or treatment of an injury, you can count on our treating your pet like one of our own.

Dr. Ferlin Tutt founded Beechnut Animal Clinic over forty years ago. He was well respected and loved by his clients. The hospital's location was originally suburban but the population explosion caused massive growth and the city of Houston now surpasses us by 20 miles! Dr. Tutt has since retired from day to day practice and now spends his time performing veterinary medical missionary work in underserved countries. We wish him the best! Read more

I absolutely love these guys. I've been coming here for years, and that's because of the amazing customer service, but most importantly because of how well they take care of my babies. When I say we have a zoo of pets, I'm not exaggerating. People have literally said that to us multiple times when we have guests over. Anyway, whenever we come in, we are usually recognized and greeted right away, and they remember our pets too. The front office staff is very friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about the pets well being. The office always seems clean too which I can imagine is hard to do with animals coming in and out all the time, and anytime my pets have had any accidents, they treat it like such a normal thing and make sure you don't feel bad at all. The Dr.s are also top notch. Our pets are always comfortable (as much as they can be once they know they're at the vet) around them, and once the Dr actually spends time with them, the pets ease up. This place is great!

Dr Mann and his staff came my cat/s rescue last Friday morning. Told my cat needed his leg amputated by sugarland specialty hospital thursday afternoon after a dressing change. the ortho specialist could not do it until tuesday. all of the vet hospitals required the cat to be assessed for life threatening condition in order for the leg to be taken off prior to tuesday. Dr. Stuart Johnson who did my dog/s tplo two weeks prior refused to :get in the middle of this. Palms to Paws finally recommended beechnut animal hospital. Patricia answered the phone. told me to stop crying and took control of the situation. ... Dr. Mann has a very low infection rate. 1%. i intend to have him perform the tight rope in my dog/s other knee. Beechnut Animal Hospital is a unique discovery. As an advanced practitioner and hospital administrator, i rate this facility an A plus. I am truly blessed to have to been rescued by Dr. Mann and his staff. Caesar/s leg looks very very good. no fever. resting. i am very very pleased!!!!

I have not enough words to thank the clinic staff and Drs. for the amazing care of my little rescued Chorkie Perlie. She had a difficult pregnancy, and was suffering from heartworm related illness. They helped me thru the difficult process of an unexpected pregnancy on a very tiny stray dog. I want to thank specially to Dr. Carmen, whom took the time to guide me thru a difficult birth on the phone, and keep me focused on my part as a rescue Foster Mom. Pearlie is doing well, and her three puppies (boys) too. A great occasion to wish all "Happy Mother's Day"

... In minutes, I was in an exam room with the cat and LeeAnn (such a genuinely gentle person). The cat was treated by Dr. Carmen (awesome young vet!), given meds, and I made a follow-up appointment for the cat. The entire visit was no more than 30 minutes. Not once did I feel that the staff was rushing things--they were just that efficient.

I was not only impressed with their willingness to help a new customer without an appointment, but also with their friendliness, preparedness (they had a full staff running rather than a weekend skeleton crew), and their rates for services were very reasonable. Nothing like my old vet. ...

... My dog had deep but superficial wounds. Dr. Grana and the rest of the staff at Beechnut Animal Hospital were amazing! Although my baby is physically scarred, he is alive today because of their work!! I have spent tons of money here but not nearly as much as I would have spent other places. They are very cost conscious and only recommend what is absolutely needed. We are lucky to have Dr. Matt and Dr. Grana in the Houston area. We love Beechnut Animal Hospital and highly recommend them!
