Beacon Hill Lock

Locksmith

In the last few years there have been many "Locksmiths" working the Beacon Hill area of Boston. Some even pretend to have a location there by using phony addresses in various ads. I've seen their incompetent work and I've heard horror stories about the prices they charge. With cell phones and the internet, there's always a new group looking for an easy score and targeting desperate people who lock themselves out. I've worked for the people on Beacon Hill a long time and I want to assure you that when you deal with me, I will be honest and upfront about pricing and services without a bait and switch later. I've been in this neighborhood for 32 years now. Ask around, I've probably worked for one of your neighbors. Read more

Our relationship with Bob goes back at least 12 years. It started with him rescuing us when we locked ourselves out of our place, but matured to less embarrassing (for us) jobs like rekeying locks and replacing locks. Bob has a wealth of knowledge about locks and is well-equipped with tools, materials, and experience to do practically any lock-related job. Most recently, he replaced the lock on our ancient door and made the deadbolts fit perfectly. He's fast and reliable, too. When he promises to order a part, you can be sure he'll do it, and he gets the right one. You never need to follow up with him. He's professional, friendly, with strong sense of urgency to complete jobs, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend him.

Highly recommend! Bob called us back quickly and set up an appointment for that day. He rekeyed five locks quickly and professionally. Fee was reasonable. I absolutely recommend him and would use him again.

Bob was a lifesaver. Had an emergency situation on a weekday evening where the doorknob lock was broken and door was cracked around the doorknob enough that it wouldn't fully close or lock properly. After calling several Cambridge/Boston area locksmiths with no response, I called Beacon Hill Lock and Bob immediately answered the phone. He was willing to travel the hour from his home to work on the issue that evening, but also gave an option where he could coach me to fix the lock temporarily for the night. The temp option worked, and Bob arrived promptly the next morning to assess the situation. He was able to fix everything and install a new doorknob, metal plate and lock. Also, he only charged for the hour of his time that day (not the evening phone assistance) and parts. Bob is very straight forward and honest. Without a doubt, he'll be my first call when I need anything lock related again.
