If you're looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly hair salon, LOOK NO FURTHER. This place is so welcoming and friendly. I have had multiple stylists cut my hair at this salon and they always do an amazing job. It helps to schedule appointments well in advance, as they do tend to fill up. They're relatively well priced for what you get, and I always leave with a smile on my face. This place rocks.

Barbara and Barbara is the most respectful and gracious salon in which I have ever had my hair cut/styled. It's urban, laid back and welcoming. I call it the "omni-gender" salon.

I felt attended to, but not faked out.Plus I get the best cut that I have had in a long time. I still have to check out their coloring techniques...

My Af/Am daughter will be coming here when she moves back to IL (in 4 weeks!)

OK, so I went to see Valter who ended up being the coolest, sweetest and most savvy person I've ever let cut my hair. ... I basically accepted that I was going to get a mediocre haircut and pay for some time with someone cool (which I was actually fine with because he's THAT AWESOME). But, NO, I was super WRONG. He gave me the best haircut of my life. Weeks later and it still looks amazing. He got rid of all my dead ends without compromising the length, and he gave me the most easy breezy shape. THE. BEST. Especially recommended for fine or curly haired folx.

Great hair salon for queer folks. Me and two of my partners had a great experience getting cuts from stylists that were able to hone in on pretty specific expectations, treated our ideas without weird gender garbage, and were incredibly helpful. They offered us drinks when we got there (PBR), hung up coats, and there's a comfy waiting area. It was difficult to book only due to the schedule being full; we had a really helpful person helping us book though and they were great about getting two of us in together.

This is a super cute salon. Everyone is very friendly and I enjoyed a cold PBR while I waited to see my stylist. Ali did a great job on my fine hair. I left with exactly what I wanted, something classic but still a little trendy. She also didn't try to pressure me into buying products which I appreciated.
