The company was founded in 2011 as a wedding dance division of Philly Dance Fitness.
Owner Deborah Hirsch had her first taste of partner dancing through a high school swing club. While perfecting her swing-out, she went on to learn American smooth ballroom dances, West Coast Swing, Argentine tango and salsa. With her never-ending desire to dance, she founded Philly Dance Fitness in 2010, which now runs a multitude of innovative, high-energy programs in Center City and South Philly.
At Ballroom Bliss, Deborah and fellow instructors relish the opportunity to bring couples together on the dance floor. Read more
My wife and I took several personal dance lessons with Deborah in preparation for our wedding dance. I personally have two left feet and have been going strong with the middle school slow dance for most of my life so this was something I was stressing over. After a couple lessons we had already made some pretty big improvements just getting the basics of ballroom dancing down not to mention some great lessons in song structure and beats. By the time of our last lesson we had a good foundation in dancing along with some exciting additions like spins and dips that we were able to use on our wedding day. We both felt extremely comfortable with all the moves Deborah taught us which made one less thing to stress over on our wedding day. 100% would recommend getting some lessons here.Original recommendation
We had an amazing experience working with Kira at Ballroom Bliss. Our first dance song was "Is this love" by Bob Marley, which is not too traditional, and she was still able to help us learn the perfect dance moves to go along with the beat. We had so much fun coming to lessons and we only needed a few to make our dance perfect. I would recommend any couple to use this company for any dance lessons!Original recommendation
Deborah helped me and my now wife to choreograph our first dance and it was everything we wanted and more! We asked for Dirty Dancing with Latin flair and she came up with the perfect routine! It was suited perfectly for us and she did an amazing job teaching us every part of it. People are still talking about it to this day. If you are looking to choreograph a first dance for a wedding or whatever the occasion, don't hesitate to hire Deborah! You won't regret it!Original recommendation
My now wife and I had our wedding fast approaching. We needed to learn some moves for our first dance to avoid looking like total noodles.Original recommendation
Kira got us in shape in just two lessons! She showed us some basic steps to get our feet together and then taught us some flourishes to show off a little bit. She even taught my wife how to Charleston! Of course we had some practicing to do at home, but that comes with learning any new skill.
Our first dance went great and made our wedding all the more magical. I would recommend Ballroom Bliss (and Kira especially) for any other clumsy nerds out there like us!
My wife and I took two wedding first dance classes with Kira and she was fantastic. We did not want something super choreographed but just a few lessons on form and technique to give our dance some polish. We provided Kira our first dance song ahead of time and she showed up to our first lesson with a few moves already in mind. She was incredibly easy to work with and made us feel comfortable right away. I would recommend Ballroom Bliss and especially Kira to anyone looking for wedding first dance classes.Original recommendation
