Doula

Inspired to counsel, educate and empower new and expectant parents, BabySavvy Founder Madeleine A. Maguire launched her San Francisco-based, private coaching and postpartum doula practice in 2014. She brings more than 15 years of experience serving families with infants and young children. She is an aspiring board-certified lactation consultant and began her lactation studies with UCSD in early 2015.

Prior to completing her training in perinatal health, coaching, and lactation, Madeleine worked in PR and public policy for big-name companies in tech, healthcare, and energy. She left the corporate world well-informed, with an insider's take on corporate culture, its demands on new parents, and the obstacles parents face in trying to balance work, life, and baby.

Madeleine is a maternity and baby product enthusiast, community builder, and frequent conference and workshop attendee. BabySavvy is dedicated to delivering the latest -- research, tips, trends, and products -- to our clients.

To date, she has supported more than 115 families in San Francisco, Marin, Silicon Valley, and the Greater Seattle Area.

In her spare time, Madeleine enjoys practicing yoga, sailing, exploring San Francisco, and traveling. She graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication. Read more

Madeleine is the BEST. She isn't just good at her work—she's good at life. I loved spending time with her and learning what she had to share about baby care as well as how she approaches life in general. It's so much fun working with people who absolutely love what they do and throw themselves into it with gusto. That's Madeleine. If you want to know the latest about baby needs, she's the one to turn to. If you want to know someone who is simply a wonderful human, she is also the one to turn to.

We worked with Madi for the first 10 weeks of our baby's life and I seriously do not know ho we could have done it without her. She's naturally an over-achiever and it comes through in everything she does. ...

Fit is so important when it comes to doulas, so she may not work for everyone, but for us, she was beyond what we could've hoped for. We will be calling her for every baby we have.

Madi was so amazing with our newborn Haya. She taught me how to handle my baby, helped me gain confidence and gave me the the much needed opportunity to rest and recuperate. Always ten steps ahead, she took care of all the daily baby tasks that we didn't even know we had to do. She's a gem!

Madeleine is the best. ... We found her to be savvy, warm, thorough, and perceptive. Like many young parents in San Francisco, we are transplants and don't have family in the area. She connected my wife to a lactation consultant, recommended baby products that saved our lives (!), educated us on sleep and structuring a schedule for our baby, and even introduced my wife to a neighborhood mom's group with babies around the same age as our son. We are so thankful for Madeleine!

Madeleine came into our lives a few hours after my husband and I returned home from the hospital - nervous, exhausted parents with a newborn in hand. ... She arrived into our home and went to work the second she got here: sterilizing bottles, looking after me, getting things organized and comforting our newborn. ... She goes above and beyond what would be expected for a postpartum doula; and genuinely cares about her clients and their children. I would recommend Madeleine in a heartbeat to anyone who is pregnant and considering help. ...
