Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics

OB/GYN

The physicians at Atlanta GYN & OB (AGO), along with Decatur Midwifery, are excited to announce that commitment to our initiative of Avoiding the First C-Section is paying off in a huge way for our patients.

For the first 9 months of 2017, our overall C-Section rate was 20%, which is 10% lower than the national average and 15% lower than the rates recently published by some Atlanta hospitals.

Our primary C-Section rate for all of our first-time moms in labor was 14%, also lower than the national average.

These numbers represent the hard work our midwives and doctors performed in shepherding our Moms and their families through sometimes long and difficult labors, tricky obstetrical situations and heroic vaginal births after cesareans.

Congratulations to AGO, Decatur Midwifery and our Moms for “pushing together “ for this great success story! Read more

I had an amazing experience with this practice! All of the doctors and midwives are great. Valerie is my favorite! She gave the birthing experience that I wanted and I hope to see them again in a few years.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this staff. As a women who didn't plan on having any children I was beyond petrified when I found out that my birth control failed and I was pregnant. Not only was I pregnant but I was sick constantly during my entire pregnancy. During the last trimester I had preeclampsia and had appointments every Monday and Thursday to do ultrasounds to ensure my baby girl was healthy. At this point I felt like I become family with the staff since I was there 2 times a week. Joanne and Rita were always smiling when I came in.

... Everyone from the Atlanta Gynecology and Obstetrics family I just want to say thank you!

Wow! I've been to this practice for over 20 years now . Dr. Bonk is a phenomenal physician. Everyone, including all the staff, are always friendly, superior and welcoming. Because of some health issues, I've had to see them a bit more than I'd like to, but I've never had a bad experience. Everyone goes out of the way to be there for me. It's always comforting to see some of the same staff over the years. One in particular is Joanne. She's courteous, efficient and always friendly. This practice is one that any woman would want to go to. They all truly make you feel as if you're their number one patient. Highly recommend.

So we had our baby with them and they were incredible. Dr. Bonk was a rock star.
Just recently, 3 years later, we had one of the hard experiences related to trying to have a child, and the staff was UNBELIEVABLE! They were kind, loving, honest, and knowledgable. They hugged us and cried with us, all while continuing to guide us. They quickly scheduled an appt at Dekalb Memorial and the staff there was amazing too. We were cared for by angels in both places. Grateful for all of the staff who helped us.

I have had excellent experiences with this practice over the last 5 years, including regular Gyn care, pregnancy, delivery, postpartum care (including at least one mastitis visit), and even a pregnancy loss. The care was good a few years ago but with the addition of the new midwives is now 5 star. Every caretaker has reviewed my file and knows my story and the staff is always so kind. Great practice for a woman seeking a variety of birth options (i.e. I delivered at 41 weeks + 3 days with almost no medical intervention despite a 32 hr labor, per my preferences) but medically sound and competent care. The midwives in particular are excellent, but the doctors are great too.
