  ... My hair turned out so nice, I ended up purchasing the conditioning mask (Shu Uemura) even though it's pricey! At least with my fine hair, a cut & color seems to work well, but the home/professional conditioning products I've been using (Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, various Walgreens brands) have not been working for me. I am active and spend time outdoors year around which seems to affect my hair.
  
  I dig the decor and location of the salon, I went there in the late 2000s but switched it up due to budget.

  Nicky is the one to see here for a proper men's haircut. He is pleasant, efficient, confident with the scissors, and I always end up with a haircut that looks good for a long time. It takes a lot for me to travel from Naperville to the west loop for anything, but damn he is so worth it!

  Been going here for 6+ months now and have had a few folks cutting my hair here. I typically see Katie unless she's booked up and I'm in a pinch, and she does a great job giving me a good looking haircut every time. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't really want to put a lot of time into my hair and I have no idea what looks good on me but Katie has been able to consistently give me great haircuts every time that my wife loves. It's also conveniently located a short walk from the blue line.

  Rob is amazing!! He made my hair beautiful again! I have semi-fine, wavy curly hair... I had previously been to a salon specializing in Deva Curl cuts. My advice, don't fall for that gimmick. Go to someone who truly knows how to cut hair. He listened & made my vision come to life...but I'm also pretty flexible and reasonable with what my hair needs in order to achieve a certain look (i.e. cutting off some inches of damage). Rob cut the best angled bob I have ever had. He's pricier than most since he's the artistic director, BUT so worth it!

  I love visiting this salon because honestly I always have great service and Ivan is by far the best colorist in the entire city of Chicago because not only does he truly know how to "listen" to his customers he knows how to "deliver" exactly what you want without causing your hair an inch of damage. ... I am so grateful Ivan was able to see me today and I am sticking with him for a long long time. Everyone here is quite friendly, upbeat and positive so you will really enjoy your services at Art and Science.
