An exception place to learn and grow holistically.. The instructions from long time teacher/instructor Milan Vigil is phenomenal.
He has a prepared outine for Tai Chi practitioners.. the environment is ripe for leaning.. and a historical perspective is an additive to the martial application of each session

Downtown yoga is a great studio. Their instructors teach in a much more effective way than at other places I’ve been to. They address each individual’s needs and explain things in a way that makes sense and tells you exactly how to do the poses correctly and comfortably. I thoroughly enjoy the classes here and go as often as I can afford to. I suffer from depression and anxiety and always feel so much better after going to the classes here.

Amy has an extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and giving approach to yoga, her students and her studio. She always makes me smile whenever I see her. She assists in helping during yoga practice so I get it! And she fosters community with the studio teachers, students and neighborhood. Adore her!

Amy was one of my first ever yoga teachers, and she really helped me progress in my practice. She is enthusiastic, dedicated, and has the most beautiful spirit. She knows how to make yoga accessible to anyone willing to try, and I'll be forever grateful that I had the chance to work with her and develop my practice at Downtown Yoga.

Amy makes yoga accessible to anyone who can move. She takes time to know her students personally and makes modifications for each individual. She takes the intimidation factor away and helps you be free to learn your practice safely. This freedom permeates her studio. Downtown yoga is as open and inviting as Amy is.

Amy is a great instructor/owner whose fun personality and calming energy is felt even when she is not in the studio.

As an owner, she has done a great job to ensure the studio hosts several talented instructors who bring a variety of practices, providing several options and times for students to practice.

In addition, the studio’s design and instructors’ personalities create a welcoming, less intimidating environment to new yogis.

Across all of the teachers at Dowtown Yoga, the consistent message is to take your own individual practice where it allows you to go that day — making most every class suitable for all levels of practice and ensuring you are in your own control of your practice that you need/want.

We are in town for a wedding and stumbled into the studio in or search for good espresso. Amy was super welcoming and her class was fantastic. She even made a point in correcting my poses even though I was an out of Townes! The studio is really cute and the Lululemon mats were great. If you live nearby, I hope you go. A great!

To begin, the space is great... Very peaceful and calm setting with nice soft light and well controlled temperatures. I've taken many classes and have never been disappointed. Amy's classes are always lighthearted and fun. LJ's classes, especially hand balancing classes are also fun, and very challenging. I've also had classes with Kristina and Alyson. Both were excellent. I also like that interesting specialty classes are offered most weekends.

If you're looking for yoga that's an even blend of spiritual and physical in a welcoming and friendly environment, I think you'll find exactly what you're looking for here. Oh, yeah... First class is free, and there are often promotions for reduced price packages.

Downtown Yoga is an amazing yoga studio! I started going here a little over a year ago, and began with Amy's beginners series to get back into yoga after taking a several year hiatus. During those first six classes, I completely fell in love with the studio and the classes! In addition to the normal class schedule, there is a great variety of workshops to strengthen your practice and learn new skills. The studio has a great ambiance and is located right in the heart of South Main. It is super convenient to all of the South End residences, and downtown businesses. If you're looking to start yoga, continue with a current practice, or just relax and stretch out, I HIGHLY recommend Downtown Yoga - there is something for everyone!!
