Amy Dancz Voice & Piano Studio

Music Teacher

We work with students of many different backgrounds, ages, and personalities to find their voice. Students come to Amy to strengthen their singing for upcoming choral engagements, polish a specific piece before a big performance, learn a new style, or even just to improve at karaoke!

Lessons are designed to be challenging and fun. Our teachers balance vocal technique, music theory, performance practices, and musical expression into one cohesive approach. Students are always encouraged to give their input on how they'd like lessons to be structured, your feedback is important!

Remember: many talented musicians read sheet music, but many don't! Don't be intimidated if you don't know a quarter note from a fermata. We will help you learn what you need to achieve dynamic and expressive musical interpretation. Read more

I'd never met someone I would call a 'scholar' in their field until I met Joshua Dixon. He's a world-class vocalist and an extraordinary instructor. ... I've, without a doubt, learned more from Joshua in the 5 visits I've had with him than the 5+ years of previous training I've had throughout my lifetime.

I've been taking vocal lessons for almost ten years now, came to Boston for two weeks and scheduled three lessons with Amy and it wow-ed me every time! I walk out feeling a lot more confident, and she gives me very practical advices that I can put into my songs right away. Amy is very sensitive with her ears in terms of how I pronounced or projected, I had a lot of fun!

For all the reviewers who said Amy's lessons are life changing, I completely agree. .. Among all the choices I had--dance, painting, acting, among others--I chose vocal lessons with Amy Dancz ... Amy is the best vocal instructor I could ask for. Not only is she professional and remembers minute details about your progress between classes, she makes singing *fun*. ... If you are looking for a vocal instructor in the Boston area, you won't be disappointed with Amy Dancz. I recommend her with no reservations. ... I can't wait to see how much more I will grow as a singer with Amy's instruction.

The best thing about Frankie as a teacher is that he never wants to move on when something is not right. He helps you focus on areas that you need improvement and quickly improve on them. Amy also has studio classes that have been a great opportunity to work with really talented people! With Frankie and Amy's help, I feel like a more complete singer!

Our daughter has been taking lessons with Amy for a few years. Amy is a great teacher who has shown an ability to work with kids. We have heard tremendous improvement based on her teaching. She also provides additional opportunities other than lessons including performance and studio classes.
