While the symbolic and legendary meanings of flowers were known to many during Elizabethan times, it was the Victorians who assigned simple messages to individual flowers. Introduced to the Swedish court in 1714 by Charles II, the Victorian mode of flower language soon spread throughout Europe.
During this time of strict protocol and conformity, men and women used the beauty and color of flowers to express emotions, wishes and thoughts they dared not speak, and every corsage, bouquet, and garland represented a carefully chosen sentiment. Presentation was also important; for example, a bouquet with a ribbon tied to the left told about the giver, while a ribbon tied to the right signified the receiver. I live in Florida and was unable to attend the funeral of my Aunt. So, I ordered flowers from their website and hoped they only looked half as nice as what was shown online. Great shop. I ordered an arrangement for Mother's Day for my girlfriend's mother and they beautifully arranged the bouquet and made so that the delivery was exactly on Mother's Day at the perfect time. Thank you so very much for the speedy service. The flowers were beautiful! My husband's aunt ended up staying with another family member after her accident.... so the delivery location was changed and your driver accommodated us by re-routing the flowers to still arrive on her birthday.
