A Time To Dance is a wonderful studio for anyone interested in learning new styles of latin/african dance. The instructors are highly trained, very friendly, and willing to assist no matter your experience level. The classes are designed around a broad range of styles including salsa, bachata, kizomba, zouk, hiphop and more. Each class is 1 hour long and reasonably priced, averaging around $12/class. It's also a great place to connect with local dancers, build community, and exercise at the same time.

Moving from a different city, I was not familiar with San Diego, nor did I have any friends or family in the area. A Time To Dance has quickly become a second home to me. I've only been attending for about 2 months, but I've already made a large group of friends who socialize in-and-out of class on a daily basis. The studio is also great at coordinating & sharing social events such as club outings, beach barbecues, and upcoming festivals.

All instructors and teaching styles vary slightly, so I highly recommend trying them all to find which best suits you! Keep up the hard work Javier and Alina!

I have been in California for a year, I moved out from NYC and was looking for something to add to my life experience. I came to A Time To Dance for a Kizomba workshop and instantly fell in love. The community here is amazing, fun, energetic, honest and patient. Every time I walk through the doors I feel like I've come home to a group of people, like me. They have easy going instructors with a wealth of knowledge and experience, the owner is incredible and real down to Earth and the staff is beyond helpful and loving. Great find, great people and a wonderful experience.

I recently read a 1-star review from a one time customer that made me cringe. Mostly because it tries to bash the owner of this beautiful studio. Whoever you are, I'm sorry you think you had a negative experience.
I (as well as hundreds of other San Diegans) know the owner personally and can tell you you've made an inaccurate assessment of his character.
I've never experienced anything other than positivity and his love for the SD community. He genuinely cares about everyone and wants to make the world a better place. He's created this beautiful environment to help share a vision and passion of dance because of how it's helped his life and so many others. He is insanely giving of his time and energy and goes out of his way to help people with nothing in return.
I'm not doubting this person's experience, I'm just saying I'd be extremely surprised if the owner did anything less than ethical. He is literally one of most giving and ego-less people around. I can attest to his integrity first hand. San Diego is LUCKY to have Javi and ATTD Studio. I can honestly say that the world is a better place because this man is in it.

Join a community like no other. A fun learning environment for beginners and new techniques for intermediates and advanced dancers. Could not ask for better instructors. Learning new moves every week to enhance your social dancing and develop your own style. The best part is that it is super affordable. Offering Kizomba, Batchata, Zouk, Salsa, and belly dancing. It always expanding and growing. I Love A Time to Dance, and look forward to it each and everyday after work. Not to mention its the only place in San Diego that offers Zouk and Kizomba!

I work on a ship, jumping from port to port, pretty much homeless. Social life is not as great as people think and learning to dance was always one of my interests. But I started to lose that jitterbug in me from the traveling, jumping from studio to studio all over different cities. Supposely my ship was in SD for 2 weeks, I came across a great deal and I said why not give it a try. Then after a few classes, the jitterbug in me started to come back. Salsa / bachata is the same everywhere, that doesn't change. What makes A Time To Dance a great place are the students, instructors with their love and passion for dancing. There are time when there are more girls than guys and there are a few days where there are more guys than girls, everyone is still having a great time. My advice is, if you are a guy, it is good to know how to follow in order to be a good leader. After 2 wks, my ship had some problems and got delay in SD for repairs. I continued to go to class and my passion for dancing started to come back because of ATTD. I started building a tight bond with people. ATTD is not just a dance studio, to me it is where I go to see my SD family. If it wasn't for ATTD, I wouldn't of met such a tight and loving group of friends. Probably the most memorable time in SD for me. I don't believe me, you gotta go see it for yourself. Can't wait to be back in SD!
